well wheels are in the gamefiles right now, and the gatling turret model has changed.

Furthermore, the devs made it clear that large weapons would not be in until factions were working

I want to get this for my birthday but I don't think my computer can run it. :c

Just bought this! Hope its worth the 17 bucks I now cant spend on gas~~

I'm building a new ship design. I'll post some pictures when I'm done. Added new stuff that my old ship missed from updates, like an observatory, dump stations, ship loading with connectors, and new roosterpits. I'm excited.

Anybody want to join my world? Looking for people to assist in construction of a large station. (10x/1x/1x world, largest size)

My steam is here

New Update: Large Ship/Station turrets are now operational. They are automatic, so you don't aim them (which I'm a bit disappointed about, but it's still awesome) and target meteorites, and the new Decoy Block, which I'm still not entirely sure how it works. The update post in the link has a video demonstrating. And there are now wheels that you attach to rotors to make land vehicles.

More here http://forums.keenswh.com/post?id=6865865

edit: yeah everything is still in testing, so the large ship gun system might change. It's still good to have something to use for now.

because whats the loving point of wheels in a space game

seriously, I don't get it. in starmade its less excusable (and makes more sense) because there are planets, but in space engineers there are no such entities. the entire focus of gameplay is between spaceships and astronauts, why add wheels? the only use they really have is for rail systems, but even then they're adding rails anyway so why, its handicapped. we need a dedicated server script more than loving wheels right now imo

im starting to build a racetrack for SPACECARS using pistons and stuff as obstacles

I'm probs going to use small blocks + matter blocks for simulated barrels/whatever to push through. Maybe even a 0 grav area where you basically have to float through and hope you don't flip/get owned by the track

Only problem I'm running into right now is the vertical pistons seem to seize you up making you immovable when they're on top of you. I can lower the limit but then they don't seem to have much of an impeding effect. idk

edit: if you're wondering about the background i used this

can be usefull later. you should be thankful for every update. If you don't like wheels, dont use them.

I could play with you. Would love racing in space and sometimes 0g

Because you could make rail guns  :cookieMonster: :cookieMonster: :cookieMonster:

You could also use the wheels as gears for movable mech legs, transit systems, and actual guns on rails.

I'm just not sure why there isn't a dedicated server script yet but we're adding this sort of thing when there's no use for them at this time.

Lets put it like this: it's raining outside and you have the option to buy sunscreen or an umbrella. Obviously you're going to buy the umbrella, not the sunscreen since you ACTUALLY NEED AN UMBRELLA
You could also use the wheels as gears for movable mech legs, transit systems
I'm waiting for more sensible rotor controls. Right now they're kind of a pain in the ass to use on their own.

actual guns on rails.
and you lost me

wowe

you're being pretty picky and honestly, look at yourself. you're overreacting because a space game has wheels.

cool those thrusters

As for guns on rails, I'm referring to creating a rail system on a ship and putting guns on the rail transit system so the turrets/whatever can be mobile and controlled to move around the ship to a degree.

"wow, you have standards, you suck!"

I'm not upset, just confused. There are obviously bigger problems for them to be addressing right now.
