Why is it so impossible to build stations directly into asteroids

i find its faster and easier to hollow out the area you want for an asteroid station just by shooting at it with rockets instead of digging. before you start shooting its a good idea to make sure you're parallel to the axis that the blocks are placed on.
although asteroid stations are cool they take a long time and the results (for me at least, one time) aren't so great.

The only real issue that I ever see with them is that if you design the turret too heavy (Or turn way too fast in them) they'll simply detach themselves (possibly bringing part of either ship, depending on the size.)

Also its impracticable unless you're on multiplayer because the turrets have to be controlled independently.

Space Engineers needs a turret platform system kinda like Starmade

I want grouping of generators/lights/turrets/rotors in the control panel

Also hot keys to turn on/off the group from the roosterpit.

Wish there were wires or something. Would be more dramatic if half the ship lost power because wires were taken out.

It covers mostly all the sky, except for the bottom hull so far
