oh boy i can only imagine how badly my pc is gonna run this

New Update: Planets have been released.

There is so much to cover but I will give a short list of highlights, and as usual you can see the update here: http://forum.keenswh.com/threads/update-01-108-planets.7372785/

Planets are not generated in worlds and are instead placed manualy, or by default based on your starting world.

There are new starting maps including Easy Starts for various planet types.

Sabaroid bug-like aliens will now spawn on certain planets and are highly agressive.

Pirate bases spawn randomly on planets, and players will be attacked by Pirate Drones from time to time.

Atmospheric thrusters are now in the game. These thrusters are powerful, but only work within an atmosphere.

Small ships now have oxygen vents.

And more. Have an enjoyable engineering, guys.

IMPORTANT: Please note that planets are possible only on systems with DirectX 11. You can still play DX9 version of the game without planets. Make sure to check the updated Recommended System Requirements at: http://www.spaceengineersgame.com/system-requirements.html

aw man, dx11 runs laggier for me than dx9 even on low settings :(

The game doesn't recognize my dx11 graphics card when playing the game and instead runs it on the dedicated graphics card which only has dx9.

I hope the developers can fix that.

this is like the first time I've updated this game in months lol
how serious is the acceleration towards a planet when you're trying to land a ship on it?

Ion thrusters will definitely not do. They said it takes a lot of consideration balancing the weight out with enough hydrogen thrust and containers, so it depends on the weight of your ship.

Who wants to play???????????

game is horribly unstable and sometimes crashes if your ship hits the ground hard enough
im going to wait for a few updates

the game's never crashed on me. the only problem I have is the jerkiness of everything when you're playing online and you're on a fast-moving ship
however that is a very big problem

They fixed the jerking

- sabiroids (what is known by community as "space spiders"): can be found on Alien planet type and on Titan type moons. They can destroy metal blocks and attack players. Their favorite hunting strategy is hiding in the ground and un-burrow to surprise their prey. When players kill a spider, new spiders won’t appear in the area for some time. Sabiroids also store few components inside their bodies from objects and blocks that they consumed.

They eat blocks ;-;
