Back before survival was fully made I reverse engineered the minecraft server in C++ in like a day or two.
Obviously survival made it infinity more complicated though.

this is what i'm talking about, but you're applying outrageous double standards or something to a thing that is basically theory at this point.

minecraft's effort wasn't in their art because notch wasn't good at art. granted, minecraft is mediocre all-around once you get over it, there was effort there. notch really did what he could because he wanted to actually try and make the game good.

you can't be making this wild assumptions for something that doesn't exist yet. if the game even gets playable, we'll be able to tell how much the devs care.

Well let's put this into perspective. Suddenly this idea of a Blockland forums game pops up and everyone flocks around it and in like a day people are already taking the idea seriously. I mean for Christ's sake the original "manager" or whatever the forget has already quit. Plus we're talking about teenagers who probably can't stay motivated for very long here who are making this. I give this thing like a week, maybe two, before it dies and everyone just stops working on it.

minecraft has no way of creating new types of gameplay or distractions independently from the stuff like fireworks etc. that is added into the game every update without thought behind it, everything in minecraft is repetitive, you might as well be watching cars race around a track 500 times and let's not even get into the insult to graphics that minecraft uses
