Even if no more problems with the home-hosting happen, would you pay $4.00/month if HammerHost was still run at home?

Yes, home hosting will stabilize and become more reliable
No, I feel comfortable only with a remote dedicated server

Its always down
Is it Furdle? Is it really always down?

Stop being an arrogant, pretentious prick all the time.

it's actually pretty neat how you don't give servers to badmins
also it's ridiculous to DDOS something that is helping blockland. could you install DDOS protection or something?
i have a strange feeling it's firecro. he's pissed because he didn't get a server from you. can you trace the IP and find out for us?

I think that would be possible.
But all the anti-malware ddos netwerk protect shiz costs a ton of money.

There is no actual way to protect yourself against a DDoS attack if the upload speed on the attacking service is bigger than the download on the victim's host.

You could get some firewall that blocks the connection but by that time the internet line will be clustered up with packets trying to go towards the victim host. However, dedicated hosting services like servermania do DDoS protection for like $160 but that would be out of budget for any start-up blockland hosting service, as people wouldn't pay for the monthly subscription as it is too expensive.

This is why RTB went down, it's too expensive and too many people on Blockland hate each other, thus people not hosting a 100% up-time host.

I was always suspicious of Firecro.

Look at nerraD's post.

Really? Did Firecro actually talk to you?

No because the attackers are hundreds of network time servers. The incoming packets display the IP address of the time servers, and not those of the real hacker. Remember, it's a UDP reflection attack.

Surely it's going to cost you quite a bit aswell because it's most likely building up your service plan data usage bill? surely you're limited?

surely you're limited?
No, it's unlimited. Why would a 50 / 25 plan have data usage limits?? Verizon never has limits on FiOS services.

My household pays around £160 a month for a 100gb business tariff with 80/80, I wouldn't know about verizon's packages as I am not living in America.

Almost all internet services are unlimited in the US, as far as I know.

what you need is ddos mitigation. but damn yo that stuff is expensive.

Well in England the network is really congested in comparison to America, thus the internet is more expensive over here. We haven't got enough power to hold everyone who is using the internet around here, the download/upload rate is so unreliable and unstable.

$272 a month for just 100 GB seems ridiculously expensive. Why do they even give you 80/80? In under 3 hours you can use up all of your bandwidth if you download at full speed.

We do go over the bandwidth by around 400/500GB a month thus us spending more. But my dad must have the reliability he needs in order to run his side of a very big company to upload and download to a custom made SVN server down south.

Our internet was working for a few minutes today. Verizon has confirmed to be working on the issue. Yay. Of course, it'll probably take longer since one agent has to go through many people to resolve the issue.

DNS is working again but ping requests time out (100% packet loss).

After 5 days without internet, I can't wait to get back online.

yes, in his corrupt fortwars server, he called you a richard or something too.
looks like there's no chance he's getting a server now, if there even was a chance.
