Author Topic: H1Z1 aka the next DayZ cash-in attempt  (Read 4165 times)

Maybe because Arma/DayZ are about a billion times more fun than Call of Duty or Battlefield so it's worth the bugs.
If you don't have the patience to learn controls for a game then you don't have the patience for Arma anyway.

bolded is ultra opinion central

and you basically proved my point, i don't have the patience for arma. im trying to play a loving zombie survival game here.

the last thing you want to do while getting chased by zombies is go through a scroll down menu to open a door or press 3 different keys to crouch down and crawl.

i think the crouch/prone keys are fine but yeah opening doors and such is a loving joke. i love arma 2/dayz/arma 3 but you can't deny aspects of it are clunky as forget. namely, scroll menus.

How so?
nothing should be worth bugs. Bugs are a mistake on the developer's part, and their obligation is to fix em. I love skyrim, but when it froze and made me start back from a save, making me lose progress, I didn't say "well, it's worth it!". Those bugs took away from the games quality.

Well sorry it's either realism or acardey right now. There is no middle ground, so there are no games for you.

Note that DayZ is still in alpha and while I hate that excuse it's true. The bugs are going to be fixed eventually.

there are plenty of games for me, arma isnt one of them lmao

lol arma isn't a loving game, it's a simulator

Cod and bf games already cover the looks and sounds of realism.

Arma wrapped up with the real life feeling of battle. The many many hours of nothing. Or the many miles of traveling.
God aren't simulators fun.

I don't think you guys understand that Arma isn't just a military simulater, it's anything. It's everything. You can make anything from hardcore military operations to driving around the city roleplaying with others. If you want a COD-style map, you can make it very easily. If you want a BF-style map, you can make it very easily as well. You want a zombie survival? There's mods for that.  What about another map? Just go download one instead of paying 20 bucks for a DLC pack that doesn't even offer half the size of an Arma map. The point I'm trying to make is that Arma is an all-in-one package for any kind of player and it's incredibly easy to overlook that. It has it's quirks but once you master the controls - which can take a little time but if you're starting out with friends can be pretty humorous sometimes - it's such a fun experience. Plus Arma 2: Combined Operations is $6.50 on Steam right now so  if you're hesitant to get into Arma then I really recommend just paying six bucks on an older game and try it out and if you really don't like then at least you didn't waste too much money.

Sorry I came off as more than just a bit hostile earlier.

EDIT: Also in more on-topic news, H1Z1 did a stream last night.

bisjac is just a reverse hipster or something

but armas gunplay requires 0 skill
its literally whoever shoots first or whoever gets spotted first

compared to say rust which is heavily skill based in gunplay, you have to actually have skill to kill people.

I wouldn't necessarily say zero skill, but I'm not saying you're completely wrong. That's because Arma is built as a tactical game. It's meant to be that way. You need to stay low and avoid the open to keep yourself from being spotted first. This isn't Counter Strike or Battlefield.

In other words, skill in Arma is how fast you can react to a contact situation, how well you use cover, and how well you can adapt to your surroundings. Not how fast you can move your mouse.

yes but my point still stands that the actual gunplay is not skill oriented. everything except the actual fight may be.

ohhh
int he stream, they said "this is a hardcore game, there will be no paying to baby around for instant weapons, etc."
:))

if it's going to become free to play, you can bet your left asscheek that that's a lie
