same with evolution, there's a lot of bullets that can be fired back and forth but no one will ever win on who's "right"

this

Same with global warming.

...

i'm crying
i'm going to cry

the reason we know this is through the rigorous testing of science and that's why we know evolution is happening and climate change is happening and is also man-made

unless you mean to tell me that science is not a way of finding the truth

Iirc, evolution is just a theory, however climate change has been proven.

Also, people need to stop mixing up evolution and natural selection. Natural selection is when organisms change through mutations over time. The ones with good mutations survive. Evolution is the theory that everything started with one tiny single-cell organism and gradually became more advanced through natural selection.
It's possible to believe in creationism and natural selection at the same time.

Or I could just be completely wrong. Don't quote me on any of this.

I'm not going to go into detail and history, but without religion there wouldn't be science. If there is anything worse than a religious person trying to force their beliefs on me, its someone who treats science as a religion. I believe that evolution/adapatation/mutation is real as well as the climate change being natural, but dangerously accelerated by humans. What I hate is someone that tries to force something onto someone.

"God isn't real! Scientist proved that evolution actually happened!"
"I'm cringing so hard, stupid bible thumpers."
"Well according to this secondary source on the internet... so therefore I am right!"

At the end of the day you can argue back and fourth who is right, but at the end of it all everyone goes home angry and thinks that they will always be right. If you ask me religion killed people for believing in something different science killed people in the name of progress.

RIP Blake1 he Self Deleted when he realized he was being proven wrong.
No, I got fed up with you idiots and your ignorance and your constant bashing at my opinions. Not to mention it was getting late and I really did not feel like debating, plus it's really hard to back up my case when I'm not a good debator.

that's your view, from my point I don't believe in evolution(sure its understandable but it also has some dumb things in it but I wont list them because I don't want to start a Religion vs science battle)

There's no solid evidence to evolution or creationism so it's best just to keep to yourself what you think of the views.

No, I got fed up with you idiots and your ignorance and your constant bashing at my opinions. Not to mention it was getting late and I really did not feel like debating with a bunch of you idiots who will believe anything that's on a .gov website.

Calling them Idiots won't help with anything mr

Iirc, evolution is just a theory, however climate change has been proven.

forget DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE WORD "THEORY" MEANS IN A SCIENTIFIC CONTEXT forget forget  asrnasn

the reason it's a theory is that it has undergone testing and explains a vast majority of the evidence, if not all of it, and can make testable predictions that come out to be true
A theory is the highest level of something in science.

Also, people need to stop mixing up evolution and natural selection. Natural selection is when organisms change through mutations over time. The ones with good mutations survive.

Actually, natural selection has nothing to do with the mutations occurring. It's just the process by which mutations are kept because of the organisms without mutations dying off, or the other way around if the mutation is not beneficial.

Evolution is the theory that everything started with one tiny single-cell organism and gradually became more advanced through natural selection.

"Advanced" is probably not the right word.
The theory of evolution doesn't really deal with the origin of life, but merely the diversifying of life after the first organism appeared.
Abiogenesis deals with the origin of life. I would try to explain it a little, but people would probably think I'm talking about spontaneous generation when I'm not, because I'm bad at explaining myself.

If there is anything worse than a religious person trying to force their beliefs on me, its someone who treats science as a religion.

Um...?

I believe that evolution/adapatation/mutation is real as well as the climate change being natural, but dangerously accelerated by humans. What I hate is someone that tries to force something onto someone.

"God isn't real! Scientist proved that evolution actually happened!"

Well, science proving it is a pretty good reason to accept something as true.
Then again, it won't deal a blow to anyone that believes in theistic evolution. It probably won't deal a blow to anti-evolutionists, considering they would just deny that evolution happens.
(Those silly people that accept "micro"evolution but not "macro"evolution, because apparently small changes can't add up to a big one?)

"Well according to this secondary source on the internet... so therefore I am right!"

If this is in regards to me, I brought up some pretty primary sources.

At the end of the day you can argue back and fourth who is right, but at the end of it all everyone goes home angry and thinks that they will always be right.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean that there is a correct side.
Climate change denialists really can't do anything but pretend like there is no evidence for climate change, while there is actually quite a lot of evidence, and is accepted by probably every major science organization (or some other word that I can't think of, because organization is maybe not the right word but probably).

No, I got fed up with you idiots and your ignorance and your constant bashing at my opinions.

An opinion can be wrong?
You go "Climate change is not real" or "Climate change isn't accepted" or something and then I linked you a bunch of major organizations that accept climate change and a peer-reviewed paper in Nature that included the statement that humans were the cause of climate change as part of the abstract, and you just went "Well so what? I'm just still gonna say it's bullstuff" and left.

There's no solid evidence to evolution or creationism so it's best just to keep to yourself what you think of the views.

This is the most sane thing I've read all day.

Calling them Idiots won't help with anything mr
yeah i know all it's going to do is start them up bashing at me once again for my "stupidity" in not believing everything scientists feed me, forget me for my opinions.

Okay so a bunch of major organizations accept it, big deal. The biggest organization I find acceptable is myself. You can link me to all these fancy dancy nasa stuff but I don't give a stuff. I've looked at it and the way I see it fit is my opinion. I honestly don't give a forget what you guys think, all I was doing was posting my view on the topic.

constant bashing at my opinions

Science doesn't care about your opinions, for better or for worse.

yeah i know all it's going to do is start them up bashing at me once again for my "stupidity" in not believing everything scientists feed me, forget me for my opinions.

I'm not saying it's wrong to have an opinion.
I just find it ridiculous that I can link to some very respected scientific organizations that verify that climate change is occurring, and you just brush it off.
Oh, wait, because it's a scientist "feeding" me this information? Am I a gullible idiot for accepting something that has been verified over and over again?

Okay so a bunch of major organizations accept it, big deal. The biggest organization I find acceptable is myself. You can link me to all these fancy dancy nasa stuff but I don't give a stuff. I've looked at it and the way I see it fit is my opinion.

I honestly don't give a forget what you guys think, all I was doing was posting my view on the topic.

Then you could stop posting.
I mean, this whole post just seems like "I don't like my opinion being attacked so I'm going to say that it was my opinion over and over again as if that protects me from having my opinion criticized".

yeah i know all it's going to do is start them up bashing at me once again for my "stupidity" in not believing everything scientists feed me, forget me for my opinions.

Yeah well your opinion is pretty much worthless

Evidence does not change based on your opinion, and science will always be true whether you believe it or not

Didn't say anything about the evidence. I'm just saying I find this bullstuff  until I see evidence that convinces ME, not you guys.

Going to drop this now, going no where

im just gonna post this again because i think you missed it

I have not ANY evidence at all to evolution either besides "ohoho you see these parts of a skeleton look like a human AAANNNDDD a monkey confirmed evolution!!!" Care to back up your case?

okay lemmie find my old post...

If the fossil record held MORE bridges than animals that are already existing today, then I wouldn't have any problem with accepting it.  There just simply aren't enough to be considered the missing links behind Darwin's ideas.
first let me tell ya. you know what dogs are? there were actually wolves or some stuff us humans forced to breed together to evolve into a 'dog' species we like.

now think whales. they big huh? ye. now check out their skeleleletoneton

DAFUK
dey have pelvis and femur wtf they dont have legs!1!1!
now think of this, what if whales DID have legs. now imagine that a mutation happened. wtf no leg. somehow it survives and breeds with female. most of the offspring have no legs too wtf???? now imagine they had offspring too. eventually these weird as hell LEGLESS WHALES are becoming dominant because the environment is perfect for them. leged whales die out. bummer :(

here's some wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evidence_of_common_descent

it also lists some specific examples

don't trust wikipedia?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evidence_of_common_descent#References
list o' references that wikipedia is using. choose your poison

also HUMANS DID NOT COME FROM MONKEYS AAAAAAAAA

THINK OF MONKEYS AS A CUSIN OR SOMETHING, NOT AN ANCESTOR

CAPS

oh man it's a religion vs science argument

yes this was needed
