Iirc, evolution is just a theory, however climate change has been proven.
forget DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE WORD "THEORY" MEANS IN A SCIENTIFIC CONTEXT forget forget asrnasn
the reason it's a theory is that it has undergone testing and explains a vast majority of the evidence, if not all of it, and can make testable predictions that come out to be true
A theory is the highest level of something in science.
Also, people need to stop mixing up evolution and natural selection. Natural selection is when organisms change through mutations over time. The ones with good mutations survive.
Actually, natural selection has nothing to do with the mutations occurring. It's just the process by which mutations are kept because of the organisms without mutations dying off, or the other way around if the mutation is not beneficial.
Evolution is the theory that everything started with one tiny single-cell organism and gradually became more advanced through natural selection.
"Advanced" is probably not the right word.
The theory of evolution doesn't really deal with the origin of life, but merely the diversifying of life after the first organism appeared.
Abiogenesis deals with the origin of life. I would try to explain it a little, but people would probably think I'm talking about spontaneous generation when I'm not, because I'm bad at explaining myself.
If there is anything worse than a religious person trying to force their beliefs on me, its someone who treats science as a religion.
Um...?
I believe that evolution/adapatation/mutation is real as well as the climate change being natural, but dangerously accelerated by humans. What I hate is someone that tries to force something onto someone.
"God isn't real! Scientist proved that evolution actually happened!"
Well, science proving it is a pretty good reason to accept something as true.
Then again, it won't deal a blow to anyone that believes in theistic evolution. It probably won't deal a blow to anti-evolutionists, considering they would just deny that evolution happens.
(Those silly people that accept "micro"evolution but not "macro"evolution, because apparently small changes can't add up to a big one?)
"Well according to this secondary source on the internet... so therefore I am right!"
If this is in regards to me, I brought up some pretty primary sources.
At the end of the day you can argue back and fourth who is right, but at the end of it all everyone goes home angry and thinks that they will always be right.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean that there is a correct side.
Climate change denialists really can't do anything but pretend like there is no evidence for climate change, while there is actually quite a lot of evidence, and is accepted by probably every major science organization (or some other word that I can't think of, because organization is maybe not the right word but probably).
No, I got fed up with you idiots and your ignorance and your constant bashing at my opinions.
An opinion can be wrong?
You go "Climate change is not real" or "Climate change isn't accepted" or something and then I linked you a bunch of major organizations that accept climate change and a peer-reviewed paper in Nature that included the statement that humans were the cause of climate change as part of the abstract, and you just went "Well so what? I'm just still gonna say it's bullstuff" and left.
There's no solid evidence to evolution or creationism so it's best just to keep to yourself what you think of the views.
