Year 78 - After a long temporal war between the Secret Society of the Emptiness and the Loyalists to Aperture Science, the universe is restored via "The Update". It was during Years 65-70 that scientists at Aperture Science noticed the fluctuations in the instruments they were using that a dedicated group of scientists figured out that the reason for the inaccuracies was due to an omniversal apocalypse that occurred in the future, so they preempted the event by creating a vehicle that could travel through time to different worlds. Over the course of 10 local years (in their perspective, not the local worlds they visit), their fight against the evildoers that set the device to go off in the Year 71 has ended with their victory. The Badspot returns to his creation, honoring the warriors of time, and gives them "The Update" to restore the entire omniverse with. With that gift, he departs, and the Omniverse is restored and reset to the Year 78.
TL;DR - Universe is back and set at the Year 78. But it may not be over, for not all of the temporal wounds are gone..
(Ie the time war is responsible for any future missing years or mistakes)
