I wonder if that only works on DK.
Maybe watch the rest of the video. Things like this usually work best on heavier characters because of how easy to combo they are, but can usually also be applied to lighter characters.

Sorry. I got bored because ZeRo.

I don't blame you. He's more exciting when he's actually playing a tournament match... and also when it's not him commentating it.

wait, did this thread turn into a "Melee is better" thread for like 10 or 11 pages

was more like "it's actually OK to prefer melee"/"advanced strategies are OK to use"

we need to make a blf ssb with people like badspot, kalphiter, kombressor, rotondo etc.

it's not geared toward it but there is definitely a lot of technical knowledge to have if you're going to be playing melee
stuff like?

I never played melee. Just watched a few tourneys.

okey dokey

can someone tl;dr it please, I'm really tired and dont want to read 4+ pages of bitching about melee/advanced strats or techs

if everyone is down for it i could play smash 4 tourney host for the wii u

need to see how many people are up for it though

i guess a less-biased summation would be restating those as, "is it OK to prefer melee?" and "are advanced strategies OK to seek out, develop, and utilise in competitive play?"

the majority of the discussion wasn't really too uncivilised. basically at least one agreement was reached about the usage of advanced strategies in play: it's p ok. unsure of the status on melee; think that ended in a stalemate but i'm sure everyone walked away with interesting information

I think the point is that to be able to compete with others on the competitive level you have to learn how to use them.
It's not being a tryhard as much as learning how these combos work. You can't prepare for what you don't know.

That's not really a lot to learn in comparison to fighters.

But I understand the point.

i just walked away with several people shunning me and being ridiculed by most of the thread.

aren't melee 'advanced techniques' just exploits?

people try way too hard to make this game resemble melee
