I don't even remember seeing him say that.

my mind must have blocked it out as self defense

it's when junkman possesses him
but yeah i dont blame you mmbn4 is forgetin awful

so many physics glitches and stuff that you gotta learn to compete with pro players, while in Smash 4 most of what you have to learn is your character and master it's moves, not glitches on physics to win.
I disagree completely. The most often used tech are all things that were added during development. (shine cancels, l cancels, dash dancing, DI)

Wavedashing was known about during development but not a feature so whatever. It's not like you can wavedash and immediately win, if you don't know how to apply techs correctly they mean nothing. They are by no means cheat-y.

i don't know what any of those are

i don't know what any of those are

shine cancel is probably being able to jump out of fox/falco's down B (which is in brawl and smash 4 as well)

l cancel is a technique where you press shield a few frames before landing with an aerial attack, and it'll halve the landing lag. in smash 64 it cancels all lag

dash dancing is simply dashing back and forth very quickly. it's much harder in brawl and smash 4 due to stricter timing and random tripping in brawl

DI stands for directional influence. it allows you to influence the angle that you get knocked back at by holding a direction on the control stick. in smash 64, there wasn't really DI, only positional influence (just called "smash DI" sometimes), meaning that hitting a direction would shift you slightly in that direction without actually changing the angle

wavedashing is a technique in melee where you airdodge into the ground. the momentum from hitting the ground in the middle of your airdodge causes you to slide

you know what i absolutely loving love? trying to win matches to make up for the absurd toll losing a single match takes on your win percentage and making it even worse than before

brb killing self

yo if we're doing the tournament you should probably print some map leagality and selection rules right here mor

The thing about win percentages is that you have to lose to get better to get more wins.

forget win percentages. Start placing in tourneys bre

i got to the finals of a 3ds tourney once but the losers bracket was never completed. also im in the blf tourney tomorrow so yeah

for now i just wanna get people interested, so for now the map selection'll just be FD which is lame but i feel as if we should at least get a good sized group together before we get serious about this
it'd be awesome, but it's a bit of work that i dont want to go to waste

just use the apex ruleset

ill go ahead and say that im pretty sure popular picks for competitive maps are smashville, town and city, and halberd. (obviously battlefield n final destination n stuff too but thats a given) id say those as a definite thing that should be included for now.

just use the apex ruleset
you, you are a smart one

A. Game Settings
● Stock and time are set to 2 stock and 6 minutes for Singles
● Custom Fighters are set to off
● Mii Fighters are legal. Each setup will have 1111 Mii
Brawlers/Swordsmen/Gunners available for use (Using Default A Mii). No
other specials for Mii Fighters will be allowed. Players are not allowed to
transfer existing Miis to a setup.
B. Stage List
Starter Stages
● Battlefield
● Final Destination
● Smashville
Counterpick Stages
● Castle Siege
● Delfino Plaza
● Duck Hunt
● Halberd
● Kongo Jungle 64 (Doubles only)
● Lylat Cruise
● Town & City
● Omega Stages*
* Treated as Final Destination in banning phase. If Final Destination is banned,
Omega Stages are banned and vice versa.
C. Additional Rules
● Stage Striking: The player with port priority strikes one stage from the
Starter Stage list. Then the other player strikes one stage and the
remaining stage is used for the first match.
● Stage Clause: A player/team may not pick any stage they previously won
on during the set.
● Stage Bans: During the stage ban phase, the player who won the
previous game may ban 2 stages from either the Starter or Counterpick
lists.
● SelfDestruct Moves: If a match ends with the successful use of a
character’s selfdestruct move, the player that initiated the self destruct
move wins the match regardless of what the results screen states.
Selfdestruct moves include only Ganondorf’s SideB, King Dedede’s
NeutralB, Wario’s NeutralB, and Kirby’s NeutralB.
● Team Colors: Players’ character colors must match their team's color
when possible, to avoid confusion (ex: Luigi on the green team must use
the green costume).
