Entrances to the bank are to the front and to the back. The back of the bank might be easier to enter through.

TL:DR cops surround the bank, bandits surrounded. If you choose to rescue them, you must first pick a escape vehicle to hijack and then a way of getting inside the bank to lead them to safety.

You slam the ambulance into the front entrance, let your bandit buddies load in, and quickly haul ass while the Combine open fire on you. All of this happens while you are undisguised(wearing the bandit suit), and now you have a stuffload of cops after you.
