Guys, is the demon great machete any good?

It has much more strength scaling than the Zweihander, and more base damage.

But it takes more stamina per swing, and it's heavy attack is heavily delayed.

PvE i'd say no

PvP idk

EDIT: Def. not bad but not the best choices for PvE. At 15 + it does about 330 base damage with A scaling in strength so unless you have 50 strength dont expect to get more than 550 damage out of it. I use the greatsword which, at 15 + has 325 base and scales with strength and dex and will bring in over 600 damage.

demon machete has nice scaling = higher dmg output

but its not by much once you realize how bad its moveset compares to other great swords

its generally slower due to the fact that it has more delay to the swing than a standard weapon of the same class

highest dmg, but outclassed by faster, better adapted great swords like the zweihander and so on

also the str requirement to 1hand it is much higher than what you would normally expect
meaning you have 2 kind of invest in it 4 it to be effective
