After seeing the new black and gay spiderman and the new lady thor, I definitely have a feeling they are trying to appeal to the SJW crowd.
there was already a black/hispanic spiderman in 2011.
Can we have a color blind Asian male rogue and a crippled lady wolverine?
nice slippery slope btw

WHY DON'T WE JUST HAVE MICHAEL CERA PLAY SLASH?!

Holy stuff.
A black/female superhero taking on the torch would catch attention regardless of the intention.
What do you suggest? Marvel not letting superhero successors be minorities or women? Because that's the only solution that is viable with your logic.
but what i'm trying to say, and what you're clearly ignoring, is that marvel knew exactly what they were doing with this decision and trying to make me seem like a tribal misogynist isnt helping your case any more you douche

so what should they have done?

so what should they have done?
where did i say i wanted them to do something different? it happened, i just want people to acknowledge it was basically a gimmick, or to put it lightly, a marketing decision

in any case

batgirl's redesign is forgetin baller

You don't know this.
And you are tribal for believing that them announcing one of the other torch-passers are black/female that this is somehow some plot to make more cash, (which Marvel will rake in no matter who takes over the Thor or Capt) and not just a hint of fair representation.

You're basically against them getting a more black and female audience in to comics. What is wrong with them not making it another white man so minorities and females can have someone in the universe to identify with?

You're being the douche for making unfounded claims and being against a change in a forever-lasting Comic Company.

Again, no evidence or proof of this claim. No solid reasoning. No explanation on how this is wrong or bad.

the ratio of white male leads to ethnic female leads is ridiculous.

in the end though i'll still read a comic with a white dude if it's better than the latter, that's my MO

she got a redesign? haven't seen it

classic "i dont agree with you so you're a tribal."
"you're basically against them getting a more black and female audience in to comics"
please choke on a richard

do you not know how marketing works? sudden change = attention from media. do you think the people at marvel are loving stupid and didnt think about that while making the decision? you think they didn't sit down and think "how can we get more people to buy our comics" and think "mix it up?" come on man.

OR. if we decided to try being reasonable for a change. we could just assume that they want to have diversity in their comics and it has nothing to do with the "sjw crowd"

Oh lord Kimon moving the goalpost again after his arguments get shot down one by one/

You're the one with a very flawed understanding about how marketing works.
No matter what the intention, changes will attract attention. This is not up for debate.

The point is you have no idea what they were doing when brainstorming this. I am in no place to tell them their thought process when bringing this up. All I know is that they did consider sales at one point. That's all.

Other than that you're just an idiot who is scraping the barrel for more stuff to make his argument relevant, while negating all the flaws in your previous arguments.

Let's say it was a completely conscious decision based on trying to get sales:
1. How many people would this attract/repel from buying our new issues?
2. How can we make the changes in characters flow smoothly
This isn't something they aren't used to considering there was already a black spiderman and the entire world didn't flip their stuff over it and made Marvel exponentially richer. There is proof that your reasoning is wrong.
3. What makes this "gimmick" bad in any way, shape, or form?

OR. if we decided to try being reasonable for a change. we could just assume that they want to have diversity in their comics and it has nothing to do with the "sjw crowd"
then there's the part where this won't be more than a "hey that's cool" for people who aren't fans of Marvel but want some basic loving representation.

I'd love an argument where you guys didn't throw insults or smirk comments at one another if you get disproved/are trying to prove a point

You know what I would love? If instead of loving up characters "in my opinion" they just made new loving characters. This whole argument would be avoided and we would all be happy.
