Do you really think everything is accomplished? The answer is no. I don't know everything, but I know there's at least the prophecized Second Coming to be fulfilled.

it has also been stated that if we accept christ into our hearts and repent of our sins, we shall enter the kingdom of heaven. No need for sacrificing animals, no need to set up a war tent exactly the way god said in the OT, and nothing about avoiding eating unclean animals

My mom still doesn't believe I'm actually an atheist. It's not like she's ever freaked out about it or anything, she actually pulled me out of the confirmation class because the teacher was a huge cunt. I think she just doesn't want to accept it.

I think she's a christian solely because she wants to believe she'll see everyone again in heaven. She doesn't agree with any of the anti-gay stuff, she's kind of against abortion but not strongly.  My dad is pretty much completely an atheist but never disagrees with my mom about stuff just not to piss her off.


On topic though, I read stories like these all the time. It's crazy, I just don't see how a parent can treat their child like this especially since they claim to be a good religious person.

I'm not an atheist, but SHEESH your mom must be really misinformed if she thinks Christianity's the only religion out there.

ask your mom if god has infinite power. if she says yes, ask her "if god has infinite power, can he create a rock that even he cannot lift?"

I just hate it when people say "you are living your life wrong".  It doesn't matter which side.  The point is from this:

As a Christian, I am called to love others.  While I nonetheless will not agree with everything, and everyone, I am called to love; this meaning to support and sacrifice whenever possible.  While I admit that I fall short of this, I must strive to continue.  To force my beliefs on others is wrong, and in the same way, to force any beliefs on someone is wrong.  The word of God is meant to be compelling, not urging or harsh.  By that principle, Jesus says:

While the light, joy and beauty of God that I see is subjective entirely, it is my hope that I can share that light, joy and beauty with others.  It will be important, however, that I don't bear down on them to condemn them, but to lift them up and show them a new way.

My hope is that we all, regardless of belief, can learn to respect each other, and uplift each other.

I often equated people who still believe in a god these days as able bodied people moving in wheel chairs. There's nothing initially wrong with that, you just look dumb.

There's a ton wrong in it however when you force your wheelchair on someone else or sue people for not having invalid access in their house.
