The lack of resistance is seen as odd at first, but is rapidly dismissed. About two thousand people are added to the population (is this reasonable) as a result of the conquest. Plans are made to take more land.
I raised mine by like 1,800, so idk.

About 350 men are added to the army from the villages, and are trained to be the good Ateni soldiers they are.

Groups of soldiers and messengers are sent to survey and lay claim to the newly won ground. Approximately 1000 people are newly declared as citizens of Virlinde.

The Virlindan army continues their march west, while scouts are sent forth to locate the remaining barbarians. Upon learning their location, the army withholds attacking and sends forth messengers to offer surrender. The terms allow for the survival and adoption of the barbarian population as citizens of Virlinde under the condition that all territories in the western end of the peninsula are declared Virlindan territory, as well as the cultural assimilation of their people.

OOC:  Okay.  Gonna take an opportunity to edit the maps and stuff.  Let me know what colors you want for your nations.  Specific is better.

The color of the blue in my flag for me.

VIRIDIAN IS VIRLINDAN!!!!!! ◕ ‿ ◕

Whoa Pleth, next time you take a military action wait for your opponent to respond (In the rules). Since we're all kinda new to the thread I won't void the attack or the outcome. Just keep that in mind in the future.
Noted.  Will bear in mind and act accordingly in future.

Avalonia sends scouts eastward in pairs to determine whether or not to engage in any military campaigns in that direction in future.

Avalonia begins to figure out the use and production of bronze from its defeated neighbors, several of whom are eager to curry favor with their new rulers.  The total population of captured lands is around 1,100, mostly wheat farmers and small scale merchants with little military experience.

Does anyone else think it's a little off that the first thing we're all doing as nations is to attack, not to consolidate power or establish transportation networks or do any of the things governments do aside from attack?  I know my attack was a form of consolidating power, but everyone else seems to just be attacking without building a strong foundation in their fatherland.  Just throwing it out there.

Make my nation the gold of the crown on my flag (Shut up, it was my first attempt at a flag ever).

Apparently since we don't know squat stuff about the other nations for now, we can't trade with each other.

The attack was more religious, but it also eliminated a group of bandits/barbarous peoples who have been terrorizing the surround farmers since the foundation of the nation.

Scouts are sent out of the now established section of the nation. The new citizen morale is high due to the better treatment and luxuries that are available to them as Ateni citizens, not given by their cruel and ruthless leaders.

The scouts, along with a royal messenger, establish the "be annexed or get ur arse kicked" stuff with a large section south of the new additions to the nation. Of course, we are sending a peaceful warning in advance because we are going to annex them anyway.

Adding on to what plethora said, military expansion is hereby prohibited until NPCs are successfully added in. You can do anything else besides kill everything around you.

never said anything about killing everything /inside/ of me

Double post because random event time.

Happenings

Lotavik: A minor outbreak of disease leaves 230 military men dead. The disease is quickly spotted, men quarantined and bodies burned. No signs of the disease anywhere else so far.

Erinaum: a small group of prospectors discovers a massive deposit of gold near Valderesk.

Atenisia: Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Avalonia: Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Galaumia: Many of the Galaumian raiding parties begin gaining a ton of experience in battle. Galaumian military forces are feared throughout their area of influence for being the toughest fighters around.

Erste: Plans of taking more land are quickly halted. As soon as the eeriness was brushed aside, a large barbaric force of unknown identity swept through the deployed army in a night raid, killing 950 men and taking NEARLY half of their equipment.

Virlinde: Citizens began falling and dying for no apparent reason (City drinking water poisoned). About 2,400 people perish before the problem diminishes.

NOTE: If some of your military perishes you must take that into account in your nation post in both military numbers and overall population. If it's just stated that population dies, you don't need to subtract any military.

yay ;-)
The Galaumain raiding parties continue to train, with the ability to combine into larger parties in the event of a larger battle. A better military hierarchy is being established as well.

The Atenisian Council agrees to annex the 30% of the surrounding villages who agreed to join Atenisia, and just warily look at the ones who refused the offer. This increases the population by 600, and for now allows the villages to transition, and does not levy anything (however, men are still free to sign up for the military, which in adds 50 or so men to the military).

Military expansions stop. Exploration, however, of the surrounding islands, do not. Colonies and settlements are made there, but these are all small for now. The exploration consists of checking out animals, plants, RESOURCES (big one), and other populace.

I don't think you get to decide how many join. That's OPs job.

That's fine.

Guys I want to make it clear that you may do what you will. If I want to intervene with something or tell you you're wrong I will.

Only exception to that is military movements and battles and expansion.

Also, new rule:

  • "If you decide to study and research anything, be EXTREMELY detailed about what it is and how it will affect your nation."
