With the nomads who have lived for a while in Auria getting citizenship, the population has jumped to approximately 9,750. Citizens are getting along for the most part.

A few outposts have finished being made, a few companies of troop muster and gaurd from them.

(I assume the beachhead hasn't fallen yet, if it had it would have been worth mentioning).
No, but there's still that battle that had been waiting.  I'm still waiting for you to make your move.

An attempt is made to sneak spies deep into the area of conflict to raise an army of ethnic Avalonians, or at least to form some kind of resistance movement, or something to screw up enemy activity from behind the lines.  Avalonians fluent in the Britonic tongue, most from isolated areas on Avalonia where the heritage is more Norse and less Germanic, are sent in to accomplish this.  Speaking of this, these Avalonians were already oppressed and the Britons should realistically be expending some military force on keeping them down, not wholly on keeping me out.
Spies infiltrate, and begin to create an underground resistance movement many in number.  (Rolled 100%)

Wow Avalonia rolled poorly.  Literally nobody had it worse.  Onward and upward, all fingers crossed.
You just got pretty lucky right there, sir.

Lol the last northward expansion was a friendly one, remember?
oh stuff right
change that to westward

Oh, the Avalonian forces on the beach rallied and are waiting for the enemy to come to them under the command of a competent leader with good military experience.  I believe I said that those not on horseback are attempting to clear away wreckage to allow for more landings, and that a small force will remain to guard them, while two larger forces will attempt to outflank the enemy army and let loose a rain of arrows focusing on enemy horses which will give Avalonian riders a greater advantage in terms of speed and mobility (at the time the enemy army was 270, possible to outflank, if it's 15k now there's really no point, just have the lot of them flee by land to somewhere Avalonian ships can hopefully pick them up or do it Anabasis style).

Indeed I did get lucky.  Maybe I did something to improve my karma today.

I guess everyone on Jairo's thread was right about these circumstances as well.
Being Switzerland of the seas is the most boring loving thing I could do.

Not until mercantilism.

The britonic force receives backup of 200 men* and a supply of tower shields some swords and spears.**  Archers also arrive.

They move forward, keeping shields up like a barrier, protecting the archers in the center.  The archers fire at the enemy mounted units and achieve moderate success†, though due to their height disadvantage, take moderate damage as well, even with the tower shield protection.

This is all before the wreckage is cleared or as the wreckage is being cleared.

Small, two-ship trade groups are sent to each country. They carry only the finest of products.

GETCHA WARES HERE

My goodness, sometimes it seems like my regular soldiers came from that XCOM thing.  FIRE IN AN ARC OVER THE SHIELD PEOPLE!  I'm getting the impression that the enemy has no horses, so just keep circling and such, playing off the speed and maneuvering (and height I guess) advantages, focusing on the enemy archers, they can take out the tower shields at leisure after that.

If the arrows are coming in volleys, charge inward to dodge and then back to the previous range ponce it's over; mix it up after the first time, otherwise, just be smart about dodging and all that.

well switzerland's strongpoints are trade and defense, so being a huge empire isn't really in its future

A rebellious force rises in Atenisia, calling themselves the Constitutional Fighters. They work on guerrilla tactics and hurting the Atenisian infrastructure.

The majority of the population views them as terrorists and marauders.

An anti-CF force is being establish.

Well I guess I have no choice but to defend my honor.  Plexia calls back any and all exploration so the men, not being away from their wives, will impregnate said wives...

For their country.

CONSTITUTION BURNED

TERRORISTS WIN

Constitution is in Avalonia with the ex-King's son's son.

Besides, the terrorists are kinda pre-war Atenisian radical so they pretty much view the Constitution as a worship-worthy text.

ex-King's son's son.
