Atenisia asks if Espovon is interested in aiding in the war against the enemy of Albiton.
Quit scrapping for allies and face your war like a man. We have never promised your demise, we are merely attacking Albition. No where have we said we destroy the sheep puppet of our enemy. But the moment you raise an army and we notice Atenisia's flag on the field of battle, you give us clear permission to burn your crops to the ground and buildings to ash. So perhaps it'd be in your best interest to let us destroy your ruler and leave us alone. You must get rid of your sense of paranoia about us attacking you and realize we are attacking a NPC, not you.

I'm yet a friendly nation not looking for any trouble until I'm on my feet.

My military is focused around the defense of my island and not much more right now

Aurians still can't stop talking about the war in the Northeast. The council becomes worried about the possiblity of getting pulled into war or being taken over by bloodthirsty warmongers. They order for more soldiers to be recruited, the baby boom assists in the process. The council also announces complete neutrality.

Come on this isn't even true.  I'm trying to mind my own business.  My real complaint to Pleth before he made that was that nobody cared when I said something.

I'll make a more accurate atensiaball from my point of view.

Oh c'mon man.  Plethora made fun of me multiple times in those comics.  Besides, I blew it way out of proportion so that the joke just takes a step further.

I don't know much about how combat works here but I'll do my best.
The government was never really inactive, just me.  I don't know how best to go about this.  Should I say the the military has just been unsuccessful, or maybe that they've been avoiding dealing with the attackers?

Come on brew.
They're being moderately effective on land.  Along the coast, the Bequelans are essentially dishing it out like crazy.

By the way, Borg quit on us.  Not that he ever did much more than join.

Avalonian ships see that Calzone is falling to pieces - the Bequelans have caused havoc and have left long ago to aid in the more drawn out Plexian campaign, and Calzone has largely lost internal sovereignty and legitimacy.  In an effort to protect its interests, Avalonia sends troops to aid the fallen Calzonian government (Calzone was my ally and trading partner) by fortifying and garrisoning Dabo (former Calzonian capitol).  Avalonian warships seek to clear the waters of any remaining enemy vessels before the troops are landed.
Essentially the situation is going Lord of the Flies-style collapse over there.  It's best to just stay away.

I'm going to assume that we'll actually factor in the population changes after this fight because otherwise that'd be kinda gross.

The ground of roughly eleven thousand, composed of both Aspian and Galaumian forces, divide. Cavalry and a portion of archers and a small number of infantry take off into a group of 3,244, leaving the rest to be composed of Aspian and Galaumian infantry. They begin their advance on the albitonic war party of 10,000, as the cavalry group heads around to take them in from the rear, with the few war elephants, that being 4, are brought over to the hill-side to rush down to attempt to trample albitonic archers, though mainly serving as a distraction to allow the cavalry to (try to) plow in and kill as many individuals as they can as the infantry closes in, attempting to sandwich them. Archers that were once accompanying the cavalry reside on the hill-side, firing down upon the albitonic troops.

cnai get roll modifier for el1te tactics?

Also, mlock is letting me control his troops.
The two forces clash at sunrise the first day.  Due to a thick fog that covers the land for three days, the result is not seen until it clears.  As the sun rises the third day, all is clear.  The battle has ended in stalemate.  There are only perhaps 20-40 survivors on each side.

A few officers ride up from the remaining few Albitonic lines, wishing to negotiate.

He is immediately stopped because they literately stop and check everyone who tries to enter the capitol due to the entire war that's going on, then he goes through for physical examinations (ie checking up your ass and patting you down.), and then lingual testing before he's let through. If he passes any of these, he's given a sole enaru and then sent on his way inward to the city, where the watchful eye of the city guard is ever present.

The remaining forces, that of which is Imperator Merix three Centurions and 4 of their own archers and the rest being Galaumian cavalrymen, agree to hear out what the offers wish to discuss, though their men are still very much ready to fight, albeit tired.

The man explains in broken Aspidisian that Atenisia, or rather, a larger group of Atenisians, wants to talk. He has no weapons, other than the seal of some sort of underground Atenisian group.

Aurian sea explorers in the south were blitzed by a sea storm and wash up on the Plexian shore. Some surive and hope to find refuge within the country.

We speak latin, so communication is fine between both of our nations. He is told that if they wish to speak, then they are to come in whole to the gates of the capitol of Aspidis, Cormundum, in the coming days, completely unarmed and with nothing more than tunics and trousers, if not less than that. No other details are given before the man is, albeit a bit forcibly, escorted out.

The foremost officer approaches.

"Salutations.  I first of all honor your admirable bravery on the battlefield.  Your men fought well, and the conclusion is as before us."  The centurion gestures to the battlefield, with thousands of corpses laid out upon it.  "We however," he continues, "find it not in our best interests to continue this war.  I offer, on behalf of the Albitonic Empire, that we both put down our arms in battle.  Albiton will return all the land that we took from you, and we will be willing to negotiate a land claim agreement for the western lands."

Aurian engineers begin planning a massive fortress within the capital. It is going to be called the Bastion of Hope. It's also planned to become a military academy to begin training more officers for the rapidly growing military.

Aurian trade caravan have been rumored to have gone missing near Atenisia. Merchants begin to worry that the war is taking a toll on business.

Yup. Entire group. Every living organism.

"The land to the west will be divided, we will take the coastline and the nearby land to wrap downwards to allow us to continue expanses where we see fit, and the rest is left within your hands." says one of the centurions, prompting the other two to look over and give a nod of agreement. "We request that all of you technological advancements are shared with us, in full, and we would like to speak with your border lords, to speak to those whom may wish to join us. And finally, most important of all, we demand that Atenisia be released from your grasps. The rest is negotiable, this is not." says the one centurion with a clearly irritated expression, "This war wasn't over land, Atenisia was a trade partner of ours, and this war is for their freedom. Despite the number of their warriors fighting amongst your ranks, despite everything, we want them released, or else this blood shed will continue."

Yup. Entire group. Every living organism.
There are about 8,000 members in this underground group.

Hlaomarr has heard of the Silk Road and the trading alliances of the south. We want in. :)
