Author Topic: No Sims 5 if Sims 4 isn't successful - EA/Maxis Employee  (Read 3305 times)

Sims 4 will do fine anyway, especially once the expansion packs start pouring in - Same as always
If so the expansion packs will have to be really original and low priced, because they pretty much recycle the EP's for every game

Business "sense". Especially when they overlook the actual content of the reviews, and automatically assume we mean that we don't want Sims anymore.

We want a GOOD Sims game. Not a broken one. They aren't getting it, and now they're punishing us for it.
I doubt it.
Keep doubting lol its basically guaranteed, Sims games sell like hotcakes and the expansions always make them better. Especially now that theyve announced its possible theyll increase the sizes of the loaded neighborhoods.

No they wont. They will be the same expansion packs and the same prices as they always do. Its worked for three generations of sims games its going to work for TS4 as well.

if they won't work on the sims 5, then give the sims IP to someone who is Trust worthy and knows how to make a game. Ea did utter stuff for the sims 4

EA isn't the developer. They are the publisher.

So basically, this is all a threat, right?

GIVE ME YOUR MONEY OR THE SIMS loving GETS IT
DON'T TEST ME I'LL loving DO IT

but i fail to see how a game that allows you to customize breast size will financially get fukt

So they just remade sims 3 from scratch, skipped a bunch of stuff, and expected it to sell like a new game?

Yeah forget them.
it didn't really add anything, it removed a bunch of things though
gotta love people who have barely looked into the Sims 4 at all, and only know that it's missing some things that were present in the Sims 3.
from what i've seen, the Sims 4 makes a forgetton of improvements over the Sims 3. replacing the open world with the neighborhoods system, allowing 5 lots per neighborhood and only allowing one lot to be loaded at a time, isn't as bad as it seems. the sectioned off areas allow more sims to be loaded at once. building is also a lot easier, especially with the rooms you can drag and drop, and even with the streamlined building you can still go into great detail. the interface is a lot cleaner, as well. the devs have also put a lot of work into developing the sims themselves. they're a lot smarter, and the new multitasking system is probably one of the best new additions.
if you're really complaining about the lack of pools, the lack of normal careers, the unplayable background scenery, the flat lots, the SLIGHTLY SMALLER lot sizes (50x50 vs 64x64 oh nooo), then you're haven't looked at the game at all beyond the forum thread that listed these missing features.

now, granted, the game is far from perfect. it's pretty bullstuff that the engine doesn't allow for pools - i mean, wouldn't that be one of the first things they'd make sure would work in the game? same for the entirely flat terrain, although i doubt anyone has actually wanted a home that wasn't completely level. and of course the various cities in the background are unplayable - they're scenery (and there'll no doubt be a downtown expansion pack). the lack of create-a-style is pretty stupid, as well as the lack of a color wheel. however, just because it's made a stuff ton of changes doesn't mean you should beat the stuff out of it, when you most likely haven't shoveled out money to try it. hell, i haven't tried it and i probably never will, but from the videos i've watched of it, it seems like an enjoyable game. you can hardly call it a sequel, but that doesn't mean you can't call it a game.
and besides,
Sims 4 will do fine anyway, especially once the expansion packs start pouring in - Same as always

Yeah the sims 4 engine is far far better compared to the sims 3's mess of one.

Yeah the sims 4 engine is far far better compared to the sims 3's mess of one.
this as well. i think pools and leveled terrain is a small price to pay for a stable engine.

I watched a review on the new game and I can say it's a real letdown.
-Unable to travel around town freely anymore. The town is separated into sections and you have to face an endless loading screen to get to those sections
-No more pools
-No variety in places to visit
-No more terraforming
-No toddlers or interactive babies
-No more create a style

Basically a gigantic step back to the Sims 1 but in HD, what a joke.

Sims 2 not 1. I really don't understand this anger about pools.. They're.. swimming pools.. I don't think i've met any swimming pool fanatics, I'm pretty sure Olympic swimmers would class them as "eh they're alright"

They'll arrive in a patch eventually.

this forum makes me feel horrible for enjoying sims 4

all i want to do is drink at a bar and talk with 4 other people
all at once

or dance in a group of 3 people
while also talking
at the same time

or maybe i just want to call my boyfriend and vent about my job while on the toilet

if you guys could also actually read a lot mroe about the sims 4 then what they took away youd realize theyre going to start adding a lot more content

i literally scrolled down maybe six posts from the original comment in the op

They'll arrive in a patch eventually.

I don't like Sims gameplay. I'm in it for the customisation, and then that's about it. With exception to making my own businesses, the tomb exploration and setting up my own little machinima projects, I don't care to spend days trying to make my Sims be better at their lives, while essentially ruining my own. I get enough bullstuff day-to-day, I don't want to micro-manage other people's entire lives.

So, for me, the cuts were pretty dramatic, and that's why I don't want The Sims 4. I don't have enough money to shell out for expansions which add back content that was supposed to be present. I've already got The Sims 2 which has everything I need, and a forgetton of mods to add even more.

The build mode for Sims 4 has a few good tweaks, I'll give them that, but it's not enough for me to pay full retail price for what is essentially supposed to be a bare shell that you need to pay out extra cash to get the full experience.

Also, I've still yet to see a return of Open For Business-style gameplay or customisation. It loving cut me deep when Sims 3 gave us the stuffty professions instead of allowing us to make our own businesses again, and I have my doubts Sims 4 will return my favourite features. Guess my Dance, Eat & Bowl business will never see its HD rerelease...

To an extent, I agree. The entire Sims series is a very fleshed out pet game.

I do personally find the game fun but I seriously hate how EA handles it's expansions, but I guess that's what you come to expect from a business trying to make money.

The worst part is my family is gullible enough to buy them.

I count over 200$ worth of The Sims DLC across all releases that I know of off the top of my head. It's sickening.

Anyways, my sister bought Sims 4 and it's on the computer right now. I have yet to try it.
