I hear the Mirrors Edge 2 dev team picked up Anita to work on the dev team or something.
Hopefully they'll catch on pretty quick

Is there a cliffnotes for this gamergate

Is there a cliffnotes for this gamergate
Ugly ass woman named Zoey makes game called Depression quest which isn't even a game.

Apparently she slept with five different people, most of them gaming journalists.

Game charity wanted to fund games created by women, small percentage of money would go to the women. Quinn wanted all the money, ends up crying to her blog to trash this charity, media ignores it.

Some guy on youtube calls her out. His video gets taken down for copyright claims. Internet Aristocrat brings up it.

Reddit begins talking about it, reddit mods begin banning people and deleting subreddits.

Discussion to 4chan.

Anita Sarkeesian, white hipsters, fat lesbians, social warriors get together and claim misogyny.

Eventually many of the famous-ish youtubers band together into two different camps. Pro-GG which demands for more ethics in gaming journalism and Anti-GG which believes in removing misogyny and stoping the loveualizing of women. Pro-GG consists of mostly gamers, people like IA, Total Biscuit and Anti-GG consists of mostly white people like hipsters, the five guys, gaming journalists sjws, quin, anita, Brianna Wu and friends.

Eventually fake death threats appear, anita claims she was forced from her own and now gets 24/7 police protection. John Flynt claims something similar. Media shows them as victims of male patriarchy. Gawker and Kotaku calls gamers terrorists worse than CIA, says that gamers should be bullied. Big industry turns against gawker and pulls ad revenue from them, gawker proceeds to cry about it.

SOJUS convention held, all mostly white hipster and social justice warriors. MOOT from 4chan was there. Gamergate discussions banned from 4chan. People migrate to 8chan.

Internet Aristocrat drops of the grid after an embarrassing live stream.

Brianna Wu who made that game ugly game Revolution60 tried to negotiate peace between anti-gg and pro-gg. Anti-GG gets angry and abandons him/her. Brianna Wu was just capitalizing off the event anyway, so who cares. But Anti-GG contradicts themselves anyway by abandoning a poor trans woman for their cause.

Some where along the line Anita got picked up by Dice to work on Mirrors Edge 2.

Not much has happened since.

Some where along the line Brianna Wu got picked up by Dice to work on Mirrors Edge 2..

It was Anita Sarkeesian, not Brianna Wu and EA said that the information was false.

I thought IA left because he was tired of GG?

this was confirmed fake

I thought IA left because he was tired of GG?

It was definitely the livestream.

Apparently, IIRC, there was a video of him having love with his girlfriend while he was drunk, so apparently he took his accounts down.

Yes, it was weird.

TB is not pro Gamergate.

I'll give you that first image, he does say it right there. But I'd ideally like to know when that comment was posted. If it was around the start of all of this, his view has changed quite significantly. After the pretty much libelous, bullstuff twitter-fest that James Portnow conducted a month or two ago, he posted this in reponse:
Quote from: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1skam53
During his panel, James stated that I was a "leader of Gamergate". I would like to know exactly what constitutes this. Does a leader set an agenda for a group? One imagines they have to be involved in that group, perhaps the hashtag, they have to give out orders and objectives. Can you prove that I have done any of these things? Indeed if I recall correctly I have used the hashtag twice, once in a Thunderclap and once in a purely descriptive context regarding Blizzcon. At no point have I ever engaged with the hashtag or had conversations within it, not that that's a sin in any way even if I had. Have I declared myself a leader of this, thing.. whatever it might be? Absolutely not, indeed I've stated in several occasions that it appears leaderless by necessity, due to the very attempts at character assassination that we see levied at any and all with any prominence that would dare speak up for the people (yes, a reminder that these are people not subhumans you get to bully) involved and suggest that maybe, they actually have a point and you should engage them like adults while freezing out trolls and 3rd party bad actors. So the claim that I am a leader of anything other than my own channel is spurious at best, you can quibble over it but I have never declared it, nor ever attempted to mobilize this hashtag or this movement in any way for any specific goal.

The very idea that I am a leader of a movement that I go out of my way to avoid mentioning at every possible opportunity is ridiculous. He talks of deflection and yet that's exactly what I see, the attempt to deflect the legitimate discussion of ethical concerns in this industry, a discussion I've been having since at LEAST 2011 and focus on the actions of bad actors and 3rd party trolls instead. It is a fruitless completely unconstructive notion and I reject it's validity.
TB is extremely pro-ethics, but he was before the GG movement. His view may align, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he is, through and through, pro-GG.

Your second image isn't really evidence that he is pro-GG, that's TB at work. The man lives to run his channel and protect consumers, if you watched the Co-Optional podcast or his videos specifically on this subject you'd know that.

informed and proactive, but not involved

right?

The comment was from October.
I think he supports it but doesn't want to be directly involved in it, since it's a clusterforget.
