Anagaea II Holiday Event
December 25th, 2014 - January 1st, 2015

Rules and Guidelines:

  • This event is non-canon.
    • To specify lasting canon events, format your post as follows:
      Quote
Government Empire proposes an alliance with Nationland.
      (Canon)
When separating canon and non-canon events in your post, please be sure to format it so your intentions are clear.
    • Time in the "background" RP is frozen.  It will resume as normal once the event finishes at the New Year.
    • Anything canon that happened, for example, damages, spoils, and the like will be nullified at the New Year.  However, the story may travel down in your nation as folklore and legend.
  • Moderators will be still monitoring power-gaming, but due to the fact that we're dealing with a much better threat, we will be more lenient than normal.
  • The distance limit is suspended for this event.
  • While all nations would generally have quarrels with each other, all nations are more likely to be brought together for this event.
  • Research can occur much faster for the sake of time being limited to one week.  Regardless, no one should be at the Renaissance by the end of this.
  • You cannot choose to not participate and have your nation be untouched.  The bosses can and will attack.
  • You may slightly manipulate the bosses, but not to the extent of singlehandedly deciding the outcome of the battle.
  • Leave the whole week open.  Don't stamp out your enemies so quickly so that no one gets to join in on the fun.  This is a courtesy rule, so I suppose you don't need to follow it, but I highly encourage you to be fair to other players during this time.
This list may change as time goes on.

What we know so far:  (Official story info will be documented here.)

  • Serpents and other reptiles around the world have begun to act strangely and are breeding unusually rapidly in North Hlaohamarr, Southeastern Ezbátu, and Eastern Espovon.
  • Other wildlife has made desperate moves to leave these areas.
  • In Hlaohamarr, bad blizzards have become more common.  In Ezbátu, tornadoes have become more common.  In Espovon, tropical storms strike the land.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE!  GOOD LUCK!

nothing happens in galaumia so we just sit there

due to increasing weather, farmer make attempts to create levees and ditches for water to clear out and stay out of fields from over saturation, coastal towns have moved inland with important belongings to set up trade towns on higher ground until storms dissipate, strong stone watch towers resistant to these new storms are trying to be made so the town can have a forward warning.

The Great Bao wakes from a terrible dream of things to come and travels to the Navaro province to seek council from ancient ruins recently unearthed nearby, after hearing news of a great evil depicted in the hieroglyphics which reminded him of his vision.

I was gonna lay low and wait for the rp to resume, but... eh.

An ancient Dreibetungist prophecy telling of the return of the rivals of the Dreibetungist gods who were banished to darkness for ten thousand years has light shed upon it, and using astrological knowledge of the stars, as well as calendars, the coming is believed to be near.  In an effort to strengthen the Dreibetungist gods and avert catastrophe, almost every Dreibetungist family in the New Union sacrifices and consumes a male goat, with better off families donating goats to the poor for this purpose of averting or aiding their side in a clash of the gods which it is prophesied may well end all human life on Anagaea.

I guess we'll postpone this week's REs until the party's over.

People freeze their ass off as temperatures lower north of us

The Great Bao beseeches his brother, Honorable President Dyon Kim, to place the military into a state of alert. He points to depictions in the ruins of a great daemon that had once dominated over the natives of the region with an iron fist until being banished by the united efforts of a long lost band of heroes.

Dyon Kim feels that Wei Kim Bao has let the pressures of his title go to his head, and through some sort of hero complex is attempting to create a non-existant threat.

The Bao points to the bizarre weather reported by the Kai in recent years while Dyon claims it to merely be part of the weather's shifts and flows, and how only a few years ago the skies were near-perpetually cloudy.

Wei Kim Bao, frustrated at his little brother's lack of caution, calls the Arm of Bao to be stationed at each major border point and in the provincial capitols, while the rest of the military, under the younger Kim's control, goes about its training exercises at merely a heightened scheduling in case they might need to be ready to assemble as his brother suggests.

The Bao gathers a select few of the most advanced Alchemists, Engineers, and Astronomers as well as several Tei gifted in translation, and creates an emergency defense-of-the-nation guild which begins to investigate the ruins and their entombed mythologies which may shed insight into the trials ahead.

An Atenisian trading fleet was rekt in by a tropical storm forming off the short of east Espovon.

They pull trade away from the area.

Atenisia's king has a dream (he calls it a vision from God) about daemons taking over the papal states and asks to privately meet with the Pope.

In front of the Bao, on a temple altar appears a black smoke, and the following voice fills the Bao's head, saying the following:

Out from the air and land and sea
Will rise great serpents of legend three
The sky will pall and the mountains fall
The lands of the earth will feel their gall

With utter malice, rage and hate
The serpents strike at mankind's fate
The men of earth find at sacred palace
Ancient treasure and sacred chalice

For as the skies clear the dark return
The oceans reel, the land will burn
On Shiva's Day, the bane of man
Will bring dismay to Adam's clan.

The recently-formed Ezbatan Union is confused by the recent events and begins to consult scribes and prophets of all major religions in the region, and sends messengers across the seas where they can pass.  All communication over the spice road is cut off due to the tornadoes, so sea travel is the only option.  Zïtist priests cannot draw up any texts that affirm the events.

The King of Galaumia feels a shift in the air. Tornadoes head south from Ezbatu, and Sjinai sends reports. He calls for a meeting of the Islamic Empire. He fears the worse.

Upon returning to the capitol to deliver the news of the prophecy, the Bao is greeted with a distraught court, it seems that in his sleep, Honorable President Dyon Kim had passed, thus leaving his wise son, Wau Lis'ei-Kim Kai , in charge of the nation.

After the ceremony commemorating the life of the great president, The Bao pull aside his nephew in a private meeting to discuss his visions. President Wau was more easily convinced, especially after such substantial evidence, than his father, and agreed to place the military on alert in the major cities in order to free up the Arm of Bao that it may perform more investigative work.

Messengers are sent to to all the neighboring nations, The Oriental Crowns, the island nations in the center there, Ezbatu, Galaumia, Wereu, Tejina, Orshkal, Mawahe, Ashikliya, Zesioster and any others I forgot, of the Bao's Prohephecy, to warn them to take up arms and join together, for the time of reckoning is at hand, and the unity of man is soon to be tested.

Galaumia heeds the warning, spreading it to the rest of the Islamic Empire. We must join up with these heathens, lest it be the death of us.

An important Dreibetungist prophet receives a vision of the three major deities battling it out with their counterparts.  The smell of goat flesh fills his nostrils, and the deities gain the upper hand for an instant, but after a few moments are again evenly matched.  Picking up a spear, he jabs at one of the daemon rivals of the gods, and this gives the deity the advantage but burns his hand to the bone.  The vision is interpreted to mean that humans must take up arms against the daemons to assure survival, but the fight will be costly (still less costly than letting the heavenly battle rage forever).

Dreibetungist missionaries are sent throughout the Southern World to spread the message of taking up arms and fight in the impending war of the heavens.  From Turtle Island to Plexia, many faithful Dreibetungists sharpen their swords and await their opportunity to aid the gods.

The weather effects spread outward from their origin points, and the gathering of all sorts of venomous snakes and vipers gather at the center of it all, although no human has survived the storms to see toward the middle, only that snake attacks have become worse the farther one enters the territory.  Rumors of large snakes the size of horses have come in from the countryside where the winds lap the earth, several of which to be described as being "unusually hooded."

Rumors of other large snakes spread around Espovon and Hlaohamarr.  Those in Espovon report vipers of the sea the size of horses that prey on fish and scare away the fisherman's catches.  Those in Hlaohamar report great burrowing snakes that dig into people's houses and eat children and seeping adults.

Earthquakes begin to occur in Hlaohamarr at the center of the storms.

Ezbátu evacuates its citizens from the tumultuous zone, hearing of the prophecy of Bao.  Ezbátu is happy to join in union, feeling that in these hard times, we must band together.  A message of kinship is sent to the western oriental powers and to the Islamic Empire and to Banishira and the Bequelans, spreading this message.  The message of the Bao's prophecy is also brought to Avalonia.  The conclusion that the wise men of both lands meet is that these times were brought about as a "doomsday of all lands," that all the world be involved.

Alîbîyin Alisud membership swells, as faithful Muslims thank Allah for the opportunity to fight those who dare desecrate his name with their presence on this earth. Galaumia prepares war camps, an old sighting but one that the leadership still honors. A tradition that scares opposition, and strengthens morale. All active generals are prepared, as are their Hars. Siege machines are being built in Chijidan, as it is fortified. A curfew is enforced, and the Alîbîyin Alisud fort is expanded. Abu Al-Fadly and his Hars Alina Abdullah are sent to oversee the Alîbîyin Alisud and make sure they are prepared for battle.

Total Troop Count in Galaumia:
16,410 (Alîbîyin Alisud)
106,300 (Galaumia; Still Growing)
199,005 (Islamic Empire)
