To add onto why a Republic would work in Galaumia:
A functioning democracy is occuring a few hundred miles north of Galaumia, in Ru'sh Naal. Their texts have reached Galaumians, who have gained knowledge of democracy from them.

In the midst of the recent surge of national spirit, the Bao asks his followers to redouble their efforts in spreading the will of the Bao and utilizes the new scribes at the national college to produce tranlsations of the Mandate of Bao. Many of copies of these texts are distributed for free to merchants traveling to Zesioster and Galaumia so that they may in turn hand over these texts as a courtesy to the native peoples of those regions.

Dyoeng Sun Bao calls a great meeting of the people one summer to announce that he would be going into seclusion for a coming time. His research into the longevity allowed by advances in alchemy, he feels, are too pressing to dilute his duties with national managment. The people shouldn't fear for the word of the Bao would still reach them during this time through his current Disciple Ren Kai, whom would not be Bao, but speaker for the Bao during this time of dedicated study.

In terms of the nation, the fair Dyoeng Sun Bao asks for Wutesi to step forth. Provided Wutesi can prove his dedication to the peace and security of the nation, he would be the first Mahowaeaen to be chosen as speaker of the people. The Mahowaeae rejoice at the announcement, and the parliament converges to discuss potential alternate sea routes to Mawahae.

Avalonians hearing the teachings of Bao, most of them coming in contact with it in Zesisoter, create an amalgam of it and Avalonian culture and bring it back to the fatherland.  This amalgam is essentially a democracy where there is very little in the way of direct state charity to its people, and only citizens of a certain level of honor may participate.  The idea doesn't gain a foothold anywhere in Avalonia, but it has supporters.  The Council does not act on this, as there are too few supporters, and the fact that there is no objective scale for honor; it is entirely relative, and so therefore no proper honor threshold could ever exist.

After working the Navaro Territory for many years the nation of Ru'sh Naal finally incorporates the mine and it's surrounding territory into the nation. While the Navaro tribe is still not an official member of the confederacy, and thus have no representation in the parliament, the inclusion of Navaro lands in Ru'sh Naal allows for members of the tribe to request citizenship under a city allegiance in either Ru'sha or Teijina.

Such is the territory of Ru'sh Naal after the acquisition of the Navaro territory:

A diplomat is sent north to Ru'sh Naal, to discuss a possible alliance.

New, slightly out of date Atensiaball.
These NPCs need flags, even if we just steal them from real countries or something.
You can tell were I got lazy.

Jairo has hinted at working on flags, but I haven't gotten anything from him other than asking how many there are.

Three large political parties in Galaumia appear.  The first is a very conservative group led by most of the nobility, and commoners who nearly blindly support them; they desire a monarchy with a feudal system.  The second group is an extremely liberal group of the small middle class and most of the commoners who wish for the tearing down of the nobility system, saying it compromises the republic; they additionally call for the right to elect representatives for the region instead of answering to nobility, and relying on them, even though they independently have their own free will.  The third is a smaller group located primarily in the west, that wish to swear loyalty to the Iraji Empire; observing that the current republic is flawed, and looking to the alternative of being ruled by liberators of Galaumia.  Other smaller political parties show interest in a variety of political systems, but the most prevalent of the minor parties is a pro-Avalonia group, however, most in this group either end up moving to Avalonia, or are concerned with the difference between Avalonia and Galaumia, seeing that this sentiment is not practical.

Aww, you didn't use the Ezbatan flags.  :(  Funny, nonetheless.

Wutesi commissions the Ru'sh Kai college to produce a new water craft to empower the Rustuffe navy. The best design submitted would be produced.

Wutesi receives the Galaumian ambassador.

Another college is made in the central areas of Atenisia, seeking to teach people about Latin, Greek, Christianity, and Math.

The current one in Athens is flourishing and very old, ja.

Love the newest Atenisiaball.

Atenisia can into power :).

Atenisia expands west at a greater pace in order to sustain the larger cities sprouting up around Atenisia.

The island above the current one is now fully claimed by Atenisia, but is given the right to govern itself in reason, they are just part of Atenisia though.

The leader of the conservatives is welcome to face Phorinxae II in the method of Ieantar. A duel. They shall know that this Republic is in the constitution now, and to attempt to tear it down is an attack on the values of the current leader and the free people of Galaumia. There will be a fight to keep this Republic in power. It will not go down without a fight. Long live Galaumia.

The leader asks what the king's wager is.

The leader asks what the king's wager is.
It is simple. If the chief wins, Galaumia stays a republic. If the conservatives win, Galaumia becomes a feudal monarchy.

Wutesi accepts Galaumia's trade offers. In return for Rustuffe lumber and sea goods, Ru'sh Naal begins recieving Galaumian gold and spices.
The defensive pact between Galaumia and Ru'sh Naal is also signed to protect either nation should they be attacked.

The great ships of Whenoi Kai have been completed. Utilizing the mighty trees of the Ru'sh Naal region, these enormous crafts are capable of fitting an entire squadron of archers on it's deck, creating a formidable ranged adversary capable of defending the Rustuffe coast from any invader. The strong and solid carved wood design of the boat, while expensive, is also extremely durable and much more fire-resistant than previous crafts of it's size. While utilizing primarily oresmen for locomotion, the Whenoi ships have a deployable main sail for longer voyages.

Two dozen of these crafts are built initially as Whenoi is given honors from the school of Ru'sh Kai and the Parliament, and more are under construction. To keep up with the demand of boats, the docks at Teijina are expanded to include a rudamentary boat yard.

The scholars of Ru'sh Kai are upset with the crowding of the school and the lack of subjects despite the age and prestige of the college.
Lithana suggests that Teijina host a second school to cover a broader range of subjects.

With funding from the state, the school of Teijin Kai is founded.
The schools of merchantry and scribery are moved to this school and for the first time  the national schools of military theory and construction practices are founded.
The extra space  at the school in Ru'sh Kai is then used for supplementary public lecture courses on a variety of subjects including reading, mathematics, and national history.

In order to help fund the expenditures of these increasing school systems, atop the regular selection system, every year a hundred scholar seats are opened for purchase such that families can ensure their child gets their prefered subject of study or that they may send multiple children (up to three per household).

The Disciple visits Orshkal and preaches the Mandate of Bao to the commoners. He wishes that the people begin to see the harm their leader places them in by not consulting their own opinions on how they should live. He speaks of the glorious nation of Ru'sh Naal and how the citizens there are all given the garuntee to being heard seriously before a body of leaders that they get to choose themselves. Such that only those who know how to lead should, and not achieve leadership through bullying, bribery, or barbarism.

An Atenisian expedition force who traded with the larger middle island before arriving, well, arrives in a Ru'sh Naal port.
