Our allies are uneasy because we are dominate? You couldn't be more wrong, how allies are uneasy because they no longer know if the United States can protect them because we are neglecting our military with budget cuts and still operating warheads that are 20+ years old.
I did not say the armed forces directly effect that, I said that the governments job is not free healthcare and welfare. It's purpose is to protect the constitution and the people.
No, that's not what I'm saying at all. If you've ever seen the Leroy Jenkins video, it's closer along those lines. Since America rushes in gung-ho, our allies are often dragged along, and because we are obviously financially ill-prepared and are digging deeper debts, we're inadvertently forcing our allies to strain their finances. It's irresponsible on so many levels.
Furthermore, protecting the people is one thing, but at this point, the American agenda in the Middle East is influence on the petroleum market—the agenda of protecting the people is not a primary concern or perhaps any concern at all, since the government is not providing a system in which the welfare of the people may thrive.
As far as the Constitution goes? Exceuse me but that is one of the most silly of them all. Excluding the assumption that the government is only protecting the document itself, the Constitution and Bill of Rights were built around the idea that both needed to be amendable as times changed. To maintain a status quo as far as rights goes would be to defeat the purpose of both documents. Since when did the Armed Forces have any influence on the law of the land?
