it seems very heliosy

helios?
Helios does that too, and for more than just eyes. Their pilots likely get their eyes and legs replaced as a matter of course (voluntarily, ofc, though very few turn them down). Don't want blood draining down into those useless-ass extremities when you're pulling a high-g maneuver.

Helios is a Nation of crippled anime girls with bionics and stuff clearly

Tora-chan has shot down many planes in her time

I take this opportunity to brutally rape various little vehicles with my AC5's
As you dive in close on one group of vehicles, they open up on you with whatever they've got before they are wiped out. Mostly just machine guns and inaccurate cannonfire.

The ground forces are a lot more spread out now. Bombs are going to be much less effective.

I lock on to four Zit tanks and fire off the other four AGMs.

Bell finishes the engine work on the MiG-29 so that she can do further repairs on the PAK-FA.

helios?

Hell I'd think Helios could just grow you a better eye from your own DNA.

I clean up a straggler with an AGM and periodic gunfire. For the most part it seems they're all but devastated an done for.

One by one the tonks go up in flames. One of them even has its turret blown clean off the rest of the body, and it crashes down on an MRAP.

You wipe out the straggler and a friend of his, at the cost of getting shot at a bit more yourself.

Raiden continues their own airstrikes, thinning out the already-thinned out numbers further.
: Alright, things are looking good down there. We're reading at least 70% of enemy vehicles knocked out or destroyed. Staying much longer would be a waste of fuel, so go ahead and fire off your last munitions and let's head on back. Another squadron will be notified to take care of the rest.

"Roger."
I turn back towards McNamara.

I copy and turn back to base. I've been on my second mission and i'm still feeling that horrible feeling gnawing on my mind. I look down below and i see a burning tank.

My thoughts flash back to a suffocating little room. It's loud and i can hear an engine behind a steel wall. My heart is pounding. I'm suddenly no longer in my roosterpit.

("Gunner! Heat Tank!")

I scramble shakily towards the ammunition pile. I crawl over the gooey mess that was our loader. My small hands struggle to lift the HEAT shell.

("UP!") my voice is breaking with fear.

I quickly run back to gunner position to site in the target and lock onto it.

("IDENTIFIED!") I yell at the top of my lungs. I can hardly breath.

There was an explosion and suddenly we're on our side. I can hear crying.

("DRIVER STATUS!?... DRIVER STATUS!")

I look over and the driver has his skull caved in.

("SIR DRIVERS DEAD!") I really want to puke.

I fall over on my side and look out one of the ports. A hundred foot drop smiles up back at me. I hear a really loud engine that drowns out our own.

("GUNNER FIRE FIRE FIRE WE ARE STILL AI-") A plethora of machine gun fire turns the underside of our tank into swiss cheese. My commander has gone silent. Blood paints the interior red.

the edge through the viewing port is still smiling back at me. My hand hovers over the gunner seat trigger. Through the holes made in the floor i can see an enemy tank rolling up towards me. They're going to push me off the edge. the cannon is still operational and still pointed at them.

I pull the trigger. Nothing. NOTHING. I pull it desperately again and again.

("COME ON YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF stuff!") I scream loudly.

The firing explosion throws me back as the shell pierces the enemy but it keeps rolling towards me. My tank is even closer to the edge now. The enemies main gun focuses on me.

The enemy tank explodes violently as their ammunition cache erupts and finally sends me careening over the cliffside.

My tank is now in freefall.
