Wait what the forget Tippy has a prosthetic jaw?

Kissinger scratches at the back of tippy's mind.

"I though I had a forgeted up jaw,"

Edit: So my Harm94-Realism complex is wondering how the forget a mandibular prosthetic works, if you could be allowed to have one while being a combatant in the Air Force, and why the forget you would be able to take off a fake jaw.

Edit II: Don't retconn anything taya, I wont go Harm and argue

Some Huitzitlaotani probably confused Tippy's jaw for a wishbone and broke it with a friend, before beating a slave to death with the halves.

1) Artificial muscles and pneumatic pistons,
2) Probably, it doesn't really interfere with your ability to fly or deal with harsh dives.
3) People are able to take off prosthetic limbs. There's probably just an implanted socket where the jaw normally connects. Also, have you ever seen a person with their jaw blown off? Look up old WWI photos.

Another blank stare tells you that it can't.
Tippy lets out a jawless laugh, something that sounds more like a horrible coughing than someone who was tickled by something funny.

She opens up a small side panel built into her jaw and changes out a small vial of liquid and inserts a new one. She lines it back up with her mouth and the joints pop into place. She bolts the jaw back in and rotates it. An audible click and the sound of a small servo comes from her mouth as she exercises the opening and closing action of her jaw. The mechanical jaw looked like something out of a movie where robots took over humanity. It certainly wasn't an augmetic like some of the fancy Kintharians strut around, it was crudely made from the looks of it with a military stamp etched into its metal exterior. In either case, the winces she made made it clear that its painful to wear.

She turns again to the robot and gives a metal smile.

"I've heard all kinds of awesome things about Helian robots knowing other languages but i'm amused ASL wasn't one of them. Its a shame that that's happened to you. War sucks it really does... I'd really love to have something to call you. You DO have a name don't you? Did they allow you to have your own name...?"

: I don't have a name. I don't want a name. What I want is to go home, but that's not possible anymore, so I'll have to settle for the next best thing.

It glances at her sidearm.
: I've seen what that thing can do to things like me, and I'd like to request that you use it.

We aren't even going to get a "superman".

So does this bot actually want to go "home", or is it compelled by its programming to go home.

"First time i've heard a robot ask for a mercy killing. But why would you want me to do that?"

: Because there is no chance of me returning to the life I once led. A utility bot that was captured by the enemy somehow managing to get free and make its way all the way across a continent and an ocean to show up on Helian soil again? That sounds like the most obvious attempt at slipping some sort of spying device into Helios ever conceived. They would shoot me anyway.

It wants to return to a location where it is afforded rights rather than treated like a training dummy or science project.

Is that because it is sentient and self-aware or just because it is hardwired to be self-preserving, and wants to go home.

In fact is it programmed to off itself or does it just want to.

"Yeah well, that's a very human thing to desire. You're making me doubt that you're a pre-programmed super computer. You are very intelligent, but are you even really sentient?"
