The number of reservists and militia along the coast is somewhere between 1,000,000 and 4,000,000 men. Only 25% are standing. These men are not as well trained or equipped as Federal Troops, and also are usually kept in their Federal Distircts. They are on short contracts as well.

Reservists start to contain the Marines at staggering losses. More docks are burned.

Siege continues at the Kremlins. They are yet to be broken. The Federal Frigate Flotilla has arrived with the main force.

Elmic forces continue to struggle at Kosagrad. It is rumored that every intersection and square is mined. Hand-bombs see a comeback. Elmic forces continue taking heavy losses for every meter gained.

The Premier wins reelection. The people of Vlast still have a fighting spirit.

The seige on some of Vlast's cities begins to turn slightly in favor of the Vlastcovite forces, as they somehow figured out where and how attacks would be carried out.

Elmic forces suspect that there are spies amongst the ranks.

A diplomat is sent to the UEK, with the purpose of proposing the removal of any willing refugees from the war in Vlast.

sure but do it where there isn't ongoing combat, and remain neutral in the overall war

a series of explosions rock Kosagrad over night, while neither side was actively attacking. it's suspected that a spy sabatoged some of the defenses, and set them off.

shortly after, a larger-than-ever attack starts, led by kyrevan generals instead of the potentially corrupt elmic generals. vlastcovite defenses are also lighter in this portion of the city as they were informed with outdated attack plans by the elmic generals, right before the generals got detained and replaced.

von Gneisenau arrives to the besieged city of Kosagrad with an additional 55,000 Fähnrich, 1,250 Grenadiers, 3,000 light and heavy cavalry, as well as around 200 cannons and 60 howitzers. He immediately orders Elmic troops in the city to hunker down as they build makeshift bunkers, cavalry traps and various infantry traps in a heavily defended line. Some of the cannons are moved up into the city to be used as close fire support with grapeshot and the like. Bags of dirt or sand are used to protect the pieces as they attempt to create a no-mans'-land in front of their lines. Taczowa sharpshooters are brought up and are stationed along the lines to pick off Vlastcovite forces, and often go on nighttime raids into enemy territory to eliminate enemy officers.

He uses the rest of his non-reserve forces along with additional Elmic troops to push the flanks of the city and secure it from Vlastcovite forces. More defenses, not nearly as heavy as those in the city, are constructed there.

He calls for militia reinforcements as all of his remaining batteries, numbering roughly 155 cannons and 55 howitzers begin to shell the Vlastcovite side of the city relentlessly with only one objective in mind; total and utter destruction.

He also begins replacing Elmic officers under him with Kyrevan officers, the majority of whom are almost fanatically loyal to Kyrev and by extension, the UEK, following the death of Duke Leopold II. This also extends to Kyrevan foot troops.

Kyrevan generals elsewhere enforce a policy of slow advance, attempting to fight a war of attrition against the outnumbered Vlast as they receive standard and militia reinforcements. Similar policies as those used in Kosagrad are used as they reach larger towns or cities. Additionally, men are issued with cloth masks that are soaked in water to try to somewhat protect from the effects of hemlock. Groves of hemlock are secured wherever possible. The noose on Vlast's neck tightens as the majority of the UEK's military begins pouring on to Vlast soil.

Large scale recruiting happens in Kyrev, and government propaganda supporting the war against "the Duke-murdering Vlastcovite villains" is spread to every village, town and city in Kyrev. The already angered populace join in waves.

The attack meets a large amount of resistance, and the battle seems to gain less ground than expected, as the intelligence received from Elmic Central Command was false.  The generals cannot be proven innocent or guilty by any evidence gained from the exchange of information, however, a letter from high command seems to have been forged.

The artillery raining upon buildings causes a lot of cover to be blown.

As winter closes in, the water masks prove to be a bad decision.

Burellis agrees to the terms and begins sending in LAMS to extract and surviving Vlascovites who wish to leave Vlast.  The UEK is asked to allow port access for the captured ports to allow migration to occur.

use disarmed ships and agree to be escorted while in captured waters

with all due respect we'd like to be secure should you be planning an offensive

Fine, however searches and seizures are not permitted.

Alright.  Ships begin moving in and evacuating civilians, also bringing relief to those who board.

Espovon Military report

A large portion of military, around about 10,000 has been drafted into an experimental group of "commandos" units that can hit and run not needing to drag supply trains with them everywhere they go.

Forward guns were discussed for the bows of ships but later deemed useless in some drafts done by engineers, maybe another day.

deck guns have been looked into more but still seem to serve no purpose due to their bulk and use of space on the deck of the ship.

advances are being made along the coast to the southwest.

a double barreled musket was considered but never made it past a prototype.

four experimental warships have been launched - unarmed and used to research sailing along with some other boats things.

All attacks in Kosagrad are halted and the lines are built up. Winter clothing, including fur/false fur hats and heavy trenchcoats, often dyed white, are distributed. The water in masks are ditched and grease or simply nothing replace them. Effectiveness is decreased, but nothing else can be done.

More sharpshooters are brought up to Kosagrad, and Kyrevan military papers glorify them as heroes as their kills mount. Supply lines are reinforced.

Militia and standard footsoldiers reinforce the lines and another 30,000 militia arrive, with many more expected. Additional artillery is slowly brought up.

Attrition warfare is enforced.

Experimental "rocket" artillery, using mild explosives/gunpowder on a fin-guided stick, are tested at Kosagrad. Very inaccurate, but they can have severe effects on enemy morale when fired due to the noise and explosive effects.

The underground sewers are very confusing and extremely hard to get through. Traps are laid beforehand in this situation.

Buildings destroyed by shelling are simply re-fortified. Sappers re-mine the roads. Sniping archers and crossbowmen are recruited from some of the stationed soldiers. They work almost exclusively at night.

A train has moved Coehorn Mortars into the area. They are deployed and begin firing into the trenches. Fire isn't accurate, but with the high arc, shells can land in the trenches.

Rockets are loaded with crude illumination rounds which are fired at night, mostly over no-mans'-land and Vlastcovite territory.

Trenches take to laying thick plywood over the tops to somewhat dissipate non-direct hits, though direct ones are likely fatal. However, the range and thin width of trenches make direct hits difficult, and the Kyrevan bombardment continues.

Flank forces begin pushing around the sides as city troops put pressure on Vlastcovite lines. Troops take to firing grapeshot at roads to reveal mines. Additionally, many troops move building-to-building in the cover of night to confuse Vlastcovite spotters.

Kyrevan artillery enforces a 24/7 bombardment. About half of the active pieces are dedicated to light to medium around the clock fire. Vlastcovite front lines are targeted and all but the strongest reinforced buildings fall before the withering fire.

About a dozen welded steel vehicles arrive via train. They are moved on wheels and are almost totally surrounded save a back portion. The top and front sections are designed to withstand direct mortar/howitzer hits and offer some protection from cannons. They also have thin slits akin to archer slots from old castles to fire muskets out of. They are incredibly unwieldy and take about a dozen men to push it even at slow speed, but offer protection as a small mobile bunker.

Due to increasing reports of archers and crossbowmen, spotters and patrols are posted on the lines 24/7, and some infantry are equipped with thick wooden shields.

Astura sets up several teams of Vanguards specifically trained for countering guerrilla attacks and sends them to defend any major points they can in the original part of the Dudal Confederation that is now part of Vlast

More troops are sent to aid the UEK marines on the coastline
