I kinda get what he's saying but I just don't get how it has anything whasoever to do with what I said
it seems almost like he quoted me by accident, but unfortunately I don't think that's the case

it actually pains me to say i straight up do not like the old fallouts

like i didnt like fallout 3 either (at least, storywise) (and now any appreciation i had for it has been totally trashed by my adoration for fo4) and i forgetin loved new vegas but as far as i got into the old fallouts and the bits and snippets of the later-game and the overall tone and humor and detail work dont really rub me the right way

like, i like new vegas' depiction of the 5.56 pistol but i don't like the original .223 pistol in fallout because of it feeling like what i can only describe as a gun-based mary sue, wheras That Gun was just a custom gun made to use a common ammo type with the (unique!) ability to use trick ammunition to be extra versatile at the cost of a potentially-stifling location in the tier list

and then theres the unfortunate issue of fo1 and fo2 just being hard to play and having aged extremely poorly in all but writing, and even the writing has some pretty bad flaws

Anyone know what to do with that gunner that's just sitting down, won't attack you, and just muttering to himself in the hallucingen place?
pageloss

i shot him

but i shoot everything

pageloss

ignoring that that's not what pageloss means, you can do whatever you want with him

freedom to do whatever is like, one of the major points of the game

but you should shoot him

jeez i was just wondering if he gave you some stuff or something

Whoops, the point I am trying to make is that it's not that difficult to write up a place where your post apocalyptic game takes place and who and what inhabits your world. They could have easily made a futuristic game with the 1950s transplanted into it and focused without having to go buy the Fallout IP.

95% of Fallout 3 is pretty unique to itself and has nothing in common. The other 5% could have been ripped off and renamed to avoid trademark and copyright issues.

The 5% that 3 and the others have in common would be the vault boy mascot, pipboy, the chems, the weapons in name, the T-51B and T-45(Van Buren), Harold, the death claw, mole rat, radscorpion, ghouls, the super mutants, the BoS, and the Enclave. Other that everything else is unique in itself.

That's pretty much it. Tim Cain under Troika could have gone on to make Fallout 3 and Bethesda could have had their own Unique post apocalyptic rpg with TES elements. Don't know why they went on to go buy the IP though since it doesn't make sense.

but you should shoot him

this

anyway, what DOES pageloss mean

anyway, what DOES pageloss mean
It's when you post something on a page and goes un-responded to into the next page.

anyway, what DOES pageloss mean

It's a bug for people who use the button

If you've read 14 posts on a page, and 2+ new posts are made in the thread, it skips the last post on the previous page if you click

I don't know how often it happens, the exact circumstance in which it happens, or even if it still happens at all, but people like to continue doing it anyway, even if the original meaning has been lost

It's when you post something on a page and goes un-responded to into the next page.
you were right the first time. what you're talking about now is just regular old "being ignored"

That's pretty much it. Tim Cain under Troika could have gone on to make Fallout 3 and Bethesda could have had their own Unique post apocalyptic rpg with TES elements. Don't know why they went on to go buy the IP though since it doesn't make sense.
The only reason I imagine they bought the IP was because of name recognition. But even then, I dont remember the old Fallout games being all too popular.

And honestly, I can see a lot of the Fallout fans that dislike Fallout 3 liking the game if it wasnt called "Fallout"

How many immortal NPCs not counting companions are in this game?

There is one thing Bethesda hasn't got right since Oblivion is that they can't figure out how to design an NPC without being essential. Fallout 3 even had a janitor whom was completely useless as an immortal NPC. They even have a robot immortal just for dispensing a vault suit instead of having a vending machine that could do the same thing.

It's much harder to design a story that requires the death of any NPC like in New Vegas. Sure you can't "kill" yessman but you can still kill his physical form and why he can't die is at least explained better than just rendering someone "unconscious." This can't happen in the game but technically Yessman can die forever if there is no more securitron robots to jump to. If someone can't die like Yessman (excluding children) New Vegas will at least provide lore or some sort of explanation instead of just saying they have important quest plot armor.
