Just like literally every other big game company with a popular IP, and time after time people eat it up and then are outraged when it's not the holy grail
They spent a lot on advertising the the game as demonstrasted with these pictures

they had the tv commericials, the youtube ad, the 1950s style cartoon propaganda to promote the special system, they had charismatic todd howard talk about all those awesome things you can do at E3, they had some snippets released out, lot of articles talking about how great and awesome this game would be

you also have the plastic pipboy which comes with a cool looking plastic box and the mini nuke case that can store games. You also have the Jones soda promotion.

However by doing this you run the risk of blowing peoples expectations way too high past what guaranteed or promised. So to summarize all this up: if you are going to go big and talk big, then people going to expect big exciting things

nah zeblote is just a tard that doesn't understand that everything isn't catered to the PC master race and is somehow missing the fact that in a week all these problems will be solved by mods.

please guys, complain more that a console game is designed for consoles.
:/
The game was originally made to cater to a niche pen and paper roleplayers for the pc and the pc only. The consoles have their own unique and exclusive titles like Kill Zone, Dust 514, the last of us, MAG, HALO, Ace Combat, Crack Down, Forza, Gears of War, Fifa, Maden, God of War, Grand Turismo, Haze, Heavy Rain, infamous, jak and daxte, just dance, kingdom hearts, little big planet, resistance fall of man, ratchet and clank, warhawk, and much more.

If you are going to make a game for all the systems it should be optimized for each system that it runs on. Also the greatest insult is that all games and coded on PCs, the models are made on pcs, the textures are made on pc, the sounds are made with PCs.

Having modders fix your game for you sets a really a low standard and it should never have to come to that. Ideally you want your product to work when you pull it out the box. I mean if you were sold a car that said to be a fast powerful machine that was fresh off the assembly line and what you get instead is something with the performance of a pinto. Are you going to take "oh lol, mechanics can fix it" for an answer. You just got this product, and now you have to wait for a third party to fix the manufacturers mistakes.

I don't understand this whole exclusiveness mentality and how porting things to the system they were made on should be accepted as a practice. Plus having someone else fix your game for you voluntarily for free when you could have launched with those issues fixed instead.

I did that early quest where you swim underwater and seal some pipe valves, the radiation nearly killed me

I don't know if I like the new radiation thing, I'm not a fan of constantly having at least a sliver of my health missing
I got the perk that lets you breathe underwater and not take radiation from being in the water really early.
I kind of like the new radiation system. In the previous games, being radiated didn't really mean anything to me and now I lose health so I have to be more wary about it.

been thinking about getting this in the near future but

possible spoilers

can anybody tell me how accurate this is, if it is?
No scarcity of supplies/ammo <-- uhhh.. I dunno about you guys, but I have like, 0 ammo atm. Can't find stuff.
All weapons use the same type of ammo <-- this is a straight up lie
No need for thirst/hunger <-- I think this is not to overwhelm the player since they also have to manage a settlement's hunger/thirst.

Someone should really create a separate thread highlighting all the issues with Fallout 4 so regular unsuspecting people on the forums know what they're in for before they go ahead and spend god-knows-what

I'm enjoying the game. Spending $60 on it doesn't phase me, cause I know I'll probably be spending a hundred more hours on it.
I love this game.

regardless of your opinion, many people here are expressing their complaints. seems logical to start a new thread

also where can I get real guns I haven't seen a merchant selling any guns, and raiders just have the makeshift ones. I want a REAL one.

lmao

Exclusion of a platform (aka 'not catering') is a huge development sin. Zealote is being the smart one here by complaining that the optimization from console to PC for fallout is broken.

If you're going to release a half assed, nonfunctional port for the pure sake of collecting money from the end users, you're automatically an asshat.

m-m-muh enter key !!!

key mapping isn't an issue, however the engine being tied to frames is pretty much the biggest glaring offense

This method is dated as forget and there is no excuse for using it. The fact that unlocking your frames makes the game run faster is just plain handicapped.

However the game isn't a failure because of the lack of keybinding, it's for other, more prevalent issues.

edit: also seriously with the fan boy thing? This is the kinda stuff that makes people think you're just trying to get a rise out of them. If you could have just said the game is poorer quality because of it's glaring technical issues you wouldn't have looked as stuffty and annoying as you do right now

Don't know about you guys but i don't appear to be bleeding and this game is fukin gr8

I can't bleed :(

If you are short on Fusion Cores for power armor, depleted ones sell for just as much as regular ones. So scam those merchants! Also, at Concord Speakeasy there is an expert safe with a fusion core inside, it's on the second floor. At the hidden cave underneath Red Rocket Station there is also a fusion core. If you are on your way to Diamond City, stop in Lexington where they have a Super Duper Mart with a fusion core inside (There shouldn't be any enemies inside :) )

I have 16 fusion cores and I don't even know where I keep getting them.

lol, is my bias annoying you? :)

Do you want me to change the title to "GotY  / 'Broken Piece of Filth' - Path"?

Did they change radiation to work the same way it does in Fallout Shelter?

If so, that's nice. I never got bothered by radiation normally, since I never accrued it too quickly, and every time it reached 200 radiation, it would pop and tell me, so I'd guzzle a couple of rad-aways.

There wasn't an incentive to micro-manage your radiation level basically.

Edit: One thing I would like to know is how Radiation gain is displayed.
Is it the same as it used to be? Stand in a radiated area, and it says "1 rad/sec"?
If so, does it display less than 1 rad/sec?

Because I always hated how that was the lowest value it displayed.
If I was running through an area with 1 rad/sec, and I popped on some radiation-resistant gear, or some rad-x, it wouldn't say anything like "0.5rad/sec", so I had no idea if rad resistance was actually having an effect, or if I was still gaining it at 1 rad/sec.

No lol tbh I haven't even played the game. No need for sass man.

Just saying, this seems like a 60-40 fight between a fire ass game and a broken one. This thread is just for people to talk about it. I'm saying that another thread that goes over the pros/cons of FO4 would be really helpful for random people. Especially from somebody who currently owns the game.
