but the vault boy statues from 3, those I remember.

They also released vault boy bobbleheads for Fallout 4 and they look exactly like the Fallout 3 ones except the back of their shirt says 111 instead of 101.

The fallout 4 bobbleheads aren't memorable, they are the exact same thing as the previous ones.

Ok.

I don't know, I prefer more New Vegas stuff, they keep releasing Fallout 3 stuff so "the most recent game" argument is out.

Instead of gameplay and story you chose to complain about gimmicks?

Yes, I want them to acknowledge New Vegas so I can buy New Vegas stuff.

So, just had basically the most intense period in my game yet.

On the way to Quincy, to do a quest for Nick, when I spot a Vertibird in the air.
It starts shooting at some raiders, so I run over and give it a hand.
The Vertibird drops off a Knight in armor, and a Scribe, and then takes off into the air firing again.
The Vertibird is destroyed and the Scribe killed, meanwhile a bunch of Super Mutants charge us from a nearby building, and I save the life of the Knight.

We destroy the Super Mutants, but as soon as its done, more raiders start coming in from a nearby quarry.
The Knight charges on at them, and I follow. We take out most of them, and actually Clear the quarry (a couple may have survived).
After getting to the end of the quarry however, there's another little town beyond, and the Knight carries on in, attacking some Gunners.
The Knight finally succumbs to his wounds though, and falls in battle.

However, the gunfight hasn't ended, and I continue fighting gunners, until I hear something again.
The sound of a vertibird engine! Wait, two vertibirds!
It flies in over the town, spraying fire down at the raiders/gunners within.
Both Vertibirds touch down, and out jump 4 Knights in armour. They head straight for the church on the outskirt of the town, where sat inside are several Super Mutants armed with miniguns.

Together we clear out the church, while the Vertibirds fire on the raiders in the rooftop.
As 4 knights all stand blasting a constant barrage of lasers at a minigun-wielding super mutant up in the roof, a huge explosion goes off outside.
I rush out after the mutant is gone, to see the remains of one of the vertibirds on the ground.
The other is circling around, firing, and myself and a Knight rush in to provide aid.
But we're too late! It goes down in a mighty blast!
The Knight and I manage to clear out the town of the remaining raiders, and he returns to the church where the other 3 are still waiting, having secured the location, but losing their transport.

I've just experienced the most intense and coolest 15 minutes of gameplay yet.
And I head back over to Quincy, where a Gunner in a church destroys me with a mininuke. :)

lol
I think there's medication for that stuff. maybe try birth control

Look, when it's not happened for 200 years, your body has a lot to flush out.

Since power armor is now a vehicle and a walking tank. That got me thinking

Small drivable tanks, something like the L3/35. Would make sense for the NCR to build something like this since you can get more fire power and mobility out it with slightly less protection.

No vehicles in Fallout 4 I'm assuming? What about fast travel does it make sense in this game at least?

For NV my fast travel system was a van which when activated will travel to where I want at the cost of gas.

Oh yeah, a question about power armor now.

Does Fallout 4 retcon power armor now, so that they're all bulky heavy suits, which other pieces clip onto, or not?
It's just, there was a point somewhere in the game, where I read that T-60s were used in Anchorage, but obviously that was not the case in the Operation: Anchorage simulation in Fallout 3's DLC.
Or am I mis-remembering stuff (quite likely).

Because it's obviously curious that there are no Fallout3/NV style power armours, which can be worn more easily, are more mobile/maneuverable, can swim in, and don't protect from fall damage.

Regular Fast Travel is just how it is in FO3/NV/Oblivion/Skyrim. Choose a point on the map, Fast Travel, loading screen, you and your companion arrive at the spot some time later.

If you join the BoS however, they can provide you with smoke grenades, which when used in a suitable area, call in a Vertibird.
It lands, you get in, and you then select a place to fast-travel to as normal, and the Vertibird will fly there without a loading screen.
You can also shoot the minigun while you fly.

There may be alternate means of transport from other factions, or available later in the game though. Not encountered any myself.

As far as I know it's been a retcon. I'm actually quite pleased with it; I no longer require having to buddy up with the BoS (or in NV's case, Arcade Gannon too) to get an arbitrary perk to put on powered plate armor. Fall damage is completely eliminated, as it should be in a 9 foot tall suit of hydraulics and servos. The swimming aspect is sort of funny; how do you swim in a thousand pounds of various metals and ceramics? In-game you just slowly stride across the bottom of rivers or bays, which seems far more appropriate. Power armor feeling and acting like a large, thick suit is very, very appropriate, because that's exactly what it is.

At the same time, I can't help but feel a little disdain for the idea that any no-name Joe can pop in a nigh-impervious suit of armor whenever they feel like.

As for the T-60s, as far as I know it was produced and distributed in the very very last days of civilization, so post-Anchorage.

I've experienced similar but not nearly as cool incidents as you stated above. IMO vertibird health is way too low, it feels like they die literally every time they drop someone off, which doesn't seem very economic for the BoS.

what sucks is when Gunners get their hands on vertibirds and start hunting you down. VATS fat man crit ended that quick though
