and as far as new vegas goes, the big mountain is apparently based on a location on the border of oklahoma, new mexico, and colorado, which is very far from nevada, and zion national park is in utah which isn't as far away, but still probably farther away than boston is from maine
honestly, it's better that way. lonesome road was boring because it was just more mojave wasteland
