melee is more than fox dittos on FD lol
there was surprisingly little fox in the top 8, only one of the players played fox exclusively (the other two had a peach and falco)

Playing to win has got to be my most hated excuse for anything

I can understand if you're playing with friends and they go super tryhard and play in a way that's unenjoyable, them playing to win is unwarranted

But when tens of thousands of dollars are on the line, when your prestige and legacy is on the line, you are merely limiting yourself by not playing to win.

I agree to an extent that using 'cheap' tactics/characters is pretty lame and takes the fun out of the game, but not everyone plays for fun.

This is EVO and not just another local fighting game tourney and if you're playing to win you're not playing wrong at all.

A side thought, I feel as though the truly good players would be able to deal with the camping and overcome, rather than have a timeout happen.

i'd ganoncide and do every cheap trick possible to win even $5 (not $5k, $5), i'm not going to be 'honorable' for money in a videogame

You could see Armada dealt with it just fine both times he met Hungrybox in bracket. It's not even the best strategy, there are answers to it.
