this was totally an impulse buy

that mayflash adapter is totally worth it though; i love it

It's the only way to get better.

CPUs are garbage for training. Input reading and 1 frame reaction time? Yeah, humans do that all the time.
to be fair, for glory is even worse for getting better
you only get to learn about 5 matchups and don't learn how to deal with all the strategies and tech that makes people actually good at the game, you only learn how to read a roll and airdodge

i've pretty much only gotten better after playing against level 9 computers

CPUs definitely don't do anything human like at all. Especially with level 9s, it's more a matter of punishing then anything else.

With For Glory you'll at least learn human tendencies that can be applied to tournament play.

link sitting on one side with a bow?

players only throwing you off the side to get a spike?

24/7 rollers?

for glory pls

i do agree cpu's don't do the average tactics to each character, but they definitely do sharpen reaction time, which if you can land hits against a level 9 computer, you can land hits against a regular person, AND it gives much more incentive to bait airdodges since they'll get the landing lag and you won't (assuming you used a move like mario's uair)

i've been playing against a level 9 & 6 computer team when i can't play on the wiiu and i've gotten much better with ganondorf by doing that

i really don't care about tournament play though

i got good at smash by practicing against lv9 cpus in melee

supposedly using anther's ladder and playing through NNIDs and such is much faster. you should try thatdo you mean like holding onto the ledge to prevent them from grabbing it? or hitting them off stage?
basically knocking them off the stage, jumping down and hitting them further from it, and then using recovery to grab the ledge so they cant grab back on and fall down and die.

so your friends think playing the game is unfair

so your friends think playing the game is unfair
basically yeah

as soon as I figure out what I'm doing in any game, they say it's "unfair" and I'm "cheating"

like in Double Dash when I figured out how to snake, they said snaking was cheating.

the thing about edgeguarding is that if they play right it should be hard for you, unless they're playing ness

like for most characters whether you do an edgeguard successfully is a gamble, you usually cant cover all their recovery options

I play Marth and you can just jab every time they try to use their receovery and it knocks them far enough away that they can't grab the ledge if they use it again.

Every single time I find a good strategy my friends say it's "anti-fun" and "cheap"

Get good n00bs

if you can't win without using the same tactic over and over again, perhaps you're the one that needs to get good

If jabbing at ledge was an undefeatable strat it would be how every Marth edgeguards every character

Not being able to get around a defeatable strategy is a marked sign of scrubness. Using a strategy that others cannot beat is at worst cruel opportunism. Has nothing to do with his skill.
