I have Lucid dreams occasionally but I usually keep my normal dreams but I'm in a painful nightmare streak this week, this is my 3rd one.

Examples of these extremely painful nightmares:
1st. Got shot at in the ligaments and felt the gunshots which stayed with me for hours
2nd. Napalm
3rd. Getting impaled through the chest.

Lovely dreams aren't they?

I'll be bit by a wolf or hit by a car or attacked by a monster and I'll realize "Wait a minute... that didn't hurt. I'm dreaming."
One time I got shot in the chest like 5 times in a dream and felt no pain but could feel the bullets tearing through my body and when I woke up I was beyond pissed that that didn't cue me in to the fact that it was a dream.

I try WILD almost every night but I've found that when my body begins falling asleep I have difficulty breathing and my heartbeat accelerates.  This always ends in my waking up.

I've had partially lucid dreams where I can control some stuff, but not everything. I had a super weird dream last night where I was in the game Animal Crossing and I was attacked by a Lynx, one of these things:

and it ripped my arm off and then the dream stopped

I've learned a lot about lucid dreaming from Giz Edwards' videos on YouTube (he's got a great channel, you should check him out if you want some of the most legitimate information about lucid dreaming)

op, you and that website are incorrect about sleep paralysis. it's not a "condition" or a "disorder," it's a natural process that happens every night before anyone goes to sleep. its purpose is to keep the body from acting out the dreams going on in your mind, and is done by your body checking with your brain to see if you're asleep by sending you signals, such as an itch or an urge to roll over. anyway, you're not supposed to be aware while your body goes through sleep paralysis and the WILD technique requires it.

so yeah

I think I accidentally had a Lucid dream 6 years ago, when I was a Walt Disney World.  The only thing I can remember is opening a door and basically entering the first town in Rage.

And I never even played Rage at that point.

how the forget do you guys manage to do that

i never had a lucid dream before

i used to be really into it up until last summer. took me like 2 months before i could have a lucid dream that didn't turn into a nightmare after i figured out it was a dream, but once i got past that it was great-- even did some reprogramming on my own mind

now I rarely remember any dreams in general much less aim for a lucid one... now I just occasionally practice some form of visualization 'meditation' that kind of puts myself in a lucid dream state while i'm still awake

lit af i tell you

I think I had one or two. The first one was when I was thinking way too much about world war 3 and in the dream bombs and stuff started dropping down and I was really excited for some reason, I then saw that everything was destroyed and there where guns going off in the distance. That was pretty cool. Second one, I don't remember much about it

If it takes 3 years to lucid dream, your doing something wrong

But anyways I've had a few, but the thing that makes them scary to attempt is sleep paralysis which I've heard is like a waking nightmare

I tried this a few times. Never been too scary for me, but then again, I didn't really do much in both dreams other than walk around what appeared to be a deserted London.

Didn't we used to have a high quality megathread on this before?

Why can't MY dreams end when I lose a limb or fall of a building? They just keep going.

The moment i realize i'm dreaming i always wake up so :(

i've had 2 lucid dreams

the first one i remember i was going to some cinema with some friends but i spaced out, looked around and realised i was in the middle of the city so i just realised "hold on a minute this isnt right" so i just started to control the dream. some stuff i couldnt do but it was fun flying around until i woke up.

the other time i had woken up and went back to sleep again and realised i wasnt on my bed, but it was pretty short since i realised that before forgetin falling off a building so i just hit the ground and woke up

i had this dream where i was some 7 or 9 year old at my childhood school and i saw a fake blue shade and said to a random person "BLUE ISN'T REAL" person: "Blue is." me: "IT IS NOT!" then i walked to my childhood friend and said to myself "FLY!" i didnt fly, again "FLY!" "FLY FLY FLY!" then i woke up
