Author Topic: This is why I kept my views on feminism away from my family.  (Read 29967 times)

If theres one thing more annoying than feminists it's definitely 15 year olds who think they understand how the world rolls
But there isn't one thing more annoying than feminists.

If there was, it'd be angry mobs of forumers who tell people their opinions are objectively wrong

I hated feminism myself, then I took APHG - feminism is still needed in the world, even though I don't consider myself a feminist nor is it that urgent of a problem for me.

I can confirm that modern day feminism is garbage

xr get back in the kitchen

Yep it's about time for my woman to make me food

actually I'm a girl

Maxwell is my woman and she lives in my cellar

Feminism is okay as long as it isn't man hating. Because that is what it turns into after a while...

Okay, so why are you targeting feminism and not misandry?
Like, if a banker was eating babies would you try and argue that banks are horrible things because of that?
No because the movement as a whole has taken a turn for the worse, not necessarily because of misandry, but because of its lack of use. Actual misandry, such as "men should be designated to camps" is an ACTUAL minority. It is more of a blind following of the feminist mindset, the mindset that portrays women as victims and that anyone who says otherwise is just an "enemy of equality" or a "woman hater". Feminism is not womens' representative movement in society. It is for women, but it only represents feminism. It's a cult.

Which movement in particular? There are many different movements involving feminism, I believe.

That's a pretty extreme example. There are more levels to something than 'non-existent' and 'full-on'.

I'm not sure where you're getting the 'portrays women as victims' thing from. Even being a (regrettably) tumblr user, I don't even ever see this. And when I do see something ridiculous, it's usually shut down by reasonable feminists.
Feminism is not womens' representative movement in society.
You're right, it's an ideology.
It is for women, but it only represents feminism.
Not exactly just for women to be honest. There are factors involved that would help men as well. More particularly the whole 'men have to be super manly men and if you're not you get called a woman/gay.' The reason it'd help with that? Well, why is it that being a woman is an insult in the first place? Why are you called a woman simply for being less masculine? That's why it's called feminism, not womanism.
It's a cult.
This made me want to delete my post and move on but I've already typed everything.
You're delusional. The fact that this is BLF's off-topic section and still supports something that doesn't even directly affect them should be some sort of sign that you have to either be ignorant or an ass to be this stubbornly against it.

You wanted to keep your views on feminism away from your family. I say that's not enough. You should actually just keep your views away from everyone. Especially Ipquarx, who is still likely waiting on your post.

I'm not saying cult just as a throw-away insult. I mean it actually shows characteristics of a cult. It is an ideology that its members follow blindly, it maintains a firm "us versus them" mentality, it has a throw away term for non-believers (misogynist, in this case), plus it behaves like a cult. For example, feminists police everything pertaining to rape (not always unjustly), but when one of their own (Lena Dunham), commits the same act, they will go to new lengths to defend her. Why? Because she bares the same shiny label of feminism. Another specific example is the feminist rally at the MRA meetup in Toronto. When the leader with the megaphone began the chant, she said "feminism under attack, what do we do? (Stand up fight back)", but cleverly changed it to "women under attack, what do we do? (Stand up, fight back)." Feminism often uses the guise of loveism to gain more power within politics. This is why I said earlier that feminism is now the establishment.

feminists as we know them are fat lazy forgets who complain about being opressed in a 1st world country and spew bullstuff about a "wage gap" yet they ignore the actual opression going on in the middle east.

This, in a sense. Sure, they often use women's experiences in the 3rd world to justify their movement in the 1st world, but have no actual influence on the third world. I completely agree that feminism is needed over there. It is useless here.

You know that the minority of a group does not stand for all of them right

no doubt about my family hating feminism

all they do is throw curse words and complain about men i mean what is there to even question about liking that

You know that the minority of a group does not stand for all of them right
What? How did you get that from that bit of information? That was not even relevant to the paragraph.

imo you shouldn't keep your views away from your family, you should keep it away from everyone including blf.
