Author Topic: Undertale - The RPG where you don't have to hurt anyone  (Read 315464 times)

Yeah genocide was really disappointing for me. It had the potential to be something really good, but it's just a boring grindfest that amounts to an entire 2 actual fights. Like it would've been cool if there was a bit more to it than what it actually is.
What? There's tons of story in the genocide route... It's not meant to be a fun thing to do either, why would you expect going out of your way to kill everything in sight to be a fun experience. this is a game whose story revolves around "monsters are people too" so of course it's going to try to make you feel as nasty as possible and make it not fun

silly me, why would i expect a game to be fun

Games are supposed to be entertaining, not specifically "fun".

Otherwise horror games wouldn't exist.

I don't deserve to live

"fun" is completely subjective. i find undertale fun. i find genocide fun. it's fun for me to explore and experience an awesome universe and see how the world changes from the decisions you make. it's the blending of mechanics and narrative that makes undertale so compelling. i also like mastering something mechanically difficult, which undertale definitely provides. i just happen to be the kind of player that fits really well into what undertale puts forward. there's nothing wrong with calling undertale fun; if you enjoy playing it, you're having fun. if you don't, you aren't. i'm not the kind of player that likes high-suspense games because they just stress me out. it's not fun to me. but obviously there are a lot of people that enjoy that kind of experience, otherwise we wouldn't see such success in horror entertainment. that's not to say you can't have complaints, cus that just means you have a better understanding of what you actually want in a game. there's never going to be a game that appeals to everyone.
