ive been doing a pacifist playthrough where i havent killed anyone and i didnt know there was a true pacifist playthrough where flowey doesnt kill asgore. I really dont want to start over and do a neutral playthrough. Is there any other way to keep Asgore from dying on a regular pacifist route?

Did you actually not kill a single thing? If so try to reload the save right from the end, and trace your steps back down into hotland (a few elevators make the journey much faster).

Your first playthrough is locked to a neutral playthrough. You have to finish it first to be able to do a true pacifist. The best way to get to TP is to run your neutral like a TP and when you finish it, reload and head back. You'll get some new stuff. ;^)

Ok so let me just clarify incase I mess up

So I save, do the thing with asgore, have flowey defeat him, end the game and not save, reload, and go back to asgore for a TP ending?

No you have to finish your playthrough. Your save will still be there even after finishing it. Just reload it and it will trigger the TP flag on that save and you can go back through to the hotlands and get TP propmts.
