half assed sans the skeltal costume

Bought the game. It's pretty good, but definitely not deserving of the praise it's been getting.

yeah, games pretty good but doesnt deserve a 94 on metacritic

metacritic is stuff and i hate it in every way
i, for one, loved the game to death. i don't think it's worthy of a loving 94 though. tbh i don't think any game is worthy of that kind of rating

Is it just me, or was [Spoilers]Asriel[Spoilers] a major disappointment as a final boss.
I hardly felt like I was in any actual danger during the fight, and you faced basically zero penalty for dying.

It's actually impossible to lose that fight. At that point the game is basically an interactive cutscene. If you want hard boss fights, the Genocide route has plenty. You can battle against a true hero.

I agree. Undertale is certainly very good, and what it does well it does really well, but there are definite flaws. I'd rate it a solid 9/10.

I don't need to finish the game without having a definite opinion on it.

The game has some extremely tedious things about it, design flaws and all. There's also a ton wrong with sounds in the game, not to mention some that should be there but aren't.
It's a good game, I'm not saying it's bad, and I'm enjoying it greatly. I'm probably gunna log more hours into it than most of the games on my Steam account. But at the end of the day, it's veeeeeeery far from being one of the top games. Worth the money but not as good as people are climaxing it over for.

I think people are to enthralled by the writing to care about game mechanics and that's why you see such high ratings

I agree. While it was a good four hours of solid gameplay, it certainly wasn't as life changing as people make it out to be like.

It's a 10/10 for what it is. It's not a life changing experience but I never felt bored, frusturated, or like my time was being wasted, and my state of mind during the entire thing was of satisfaction at least and sometimes it felt really awesome.
