except never mind the fact that switzerland has a high gun ownership rate and a low gun-related death rate
There are many societal factors that play in to the nurturing of a shooter, there are
many differences between living in Switzerland as compared to America, one is able to function with guns and one is not. Is keeping guns in an environment that has shown more than clearly for years that it results in a constant barrage of attacks and murders really a good idea?
Not everyone with a gun will shoot someone, but everyone that has been shot was shot by someone with a gun, and in America there are a LOT of people being shot.
Also, as for the argument that "criminals will get guns anyway"
Think about all the school shootings you can remember, oft carried out by youths who had access to guns or by someone that went and bought a gun to commit their crime.
When guns are illegal this is not an easy thing, for starters buying guns of the black market is
far more expensive(watch the whole thing it's hilarious) and in no way affordable to the majority of people that have/would commit these crimes.
