Author Topic: Why do some people hate high school so much?  (Read 4032 times)

you aren't going to get worked up about it unless someone else is holding you to those standard

A fear of failure seems to be common with most adolescents, it doesn't generally have to be perpetuated by their home life.

It's probably more to do with society and peer pressure rather than it just being common for parents to make their children deathly afraid of school 24/7

oh stuff what did I start
a religious debate with (read: rant from) BLF's very own zealot

It was so easy and so fun. No real responsibility, no real worries, just have fun and hang out with friends.
i bet you take all basic classes because it's complete loving hell for me.

because they're angsty teenagers like trogtor.

other than in my first post about it, I was careful to imply that parents are only one possible source
it was not intentional that in my first post I only said parents, but honestly I still think that works out. teachers and other students are crazy unlikely to care about a B. I can't imagine anything other than a strict parent causing a kid to get stressed about a B

I do think society in general makes people more scared about the idea of not going to college than anything else would

Everyone has a different time in high school, the first few years were a chore for me but I absolutely loved it, especially the later 3 years were just spent hanging out with friends and having fun.

That might be for you, but not for every other schoolchild. There are many kids out there who legitimately care about their grades because they have actual goals in this world, and they realize that the first step to achieving those goals is getting good marks.
aka me

i got good grades because I wanted to throughout highschool and Im in a good program at a good school sooo

See Fox? Slayer is an example. His parents didn't have to belt him to get good grades, he's just doing what he feels is correct. I applaud that as I do the same.

ya but I didn't overstress myself about it either
I worked 2 jobs and was a 3 sport varsity athlete but i realized that high school problems aren't really real problems

i'm in freshman year and i can tell you i'm having the best time of my life

That's great, it's unfortunate that many other students are the complete opposite. Also wow two jobs? Must of been really pressuring.
