A fear of failure seems to be common with most adolescents, it doesn't generally have to be perpetuated by their home life.
It's probably more to do with society and peer pressure rather than it just being common for parents to make their children deathly afraid of school 24/7
other than in my first post about it, I was careful to imply that parents are only one possible source
it was not intentional that in my first post I only said parents, but honestly I still think that works out. teachers and other students are crazy unlikely to care about a B. I can't imagine anything other than a strict parent causing a kid to get stressed about a B
I do think society in general makes people more scared about the idea of not going to college than anything else would
