Author Topic: Why don't storm troopers shoot bullets?  (Read 9017 times)

ehhhhhhhh
Well, they might require some skill to use, but the stormtroopers use them as if they had been given a gun and plastic armor for the first time, then immediately pushed out into the battlefield.

Aren't like the armor in this world really thick plastic anyways? lol

A bullet would pierce that no problem.

the props are thick plastic. IN the actual universe though armor is actually incredibly tough, but only designed for energy weapons in mind most of the time. Armor is still designed partially for high impacts though so bullets won't be met without resistance.

I don't know man.

Sticks with a pointy rock on the other end apparently can penetrate the armor.

Also lasers penetrate the armor too.

Wasn't the whole deal about lack of oxygen in space? Like the popular issues of whether guns can or not shoot in space, and maybe they just sticked to that so they are more universal?

some guns fire bullets with their own oxidizer. this means they can be fired at space, and at a greater speed and precision, since there's no atmosphere or wind.

Modern ammunition has its own oxidizer iirc, so maybe the whole space thing wasn't as much of an issue.

Although now that I think about it, firing guns could easily throw off the course of something traveling at high speeds through space, while lasers are made of light and therefore have no mass to produce much of a kickback.

lol that ending is brilliant.

We don't mention the ewoks
If anyone wants reference to metal vs lightsabers.
oh look the jedi can melt immobile walls made of metal

Lets see them try that against a gun cycling through ammo at 1500 rpm with the ammo going at speeds of 950 fps (the speed of a 1919 tommy gun)

wouldn't shooting a gun in space make you fly the other direction though? But in any case, why would you be fighting in zero g haha.

If accuracy was a problem for stormtroopers, why not give them shotguns since they'll be aiming at an area anyways? Most battles take place on ground too

Wait in that video wtf do the jedi do at 2:44?? Do they loving warp down the hallway? wtf

Who the stuff gave jedi lightspeed backpacks what the absolute forget

force speed or force sprint

they have these

I remember hearing something about how they used to have guns in republic commando - but they went out of style for some reason because laser weaponry was much more useful

ah

force speed or force sprint
this proves my point that Jedi are so loving lame

Ya sure they have tons of powers and glow wands but they are amusing to the simpletons that's all
