Author Topic: Steam is forgeted at the moment  (Read 18612 times)

In case it wasn't clear (for anyone who posts later) -- Steam's downtime is fixed. You can login, and shop and account details are now all yours and not some random guys.

It is safe to login and use other Steam features now.

clarification

In my opinion, by locking everything down and trying to fix the problem, Valve handled a bad situation well.
It was still bad, just not as bad as it could've been.

I agree insofar as shutting it down was good, but the plug should have been pulled an hour before it was. The fact that they let it go on so long is pathetic. They also should have made some sort of statement instead of media silence. Their Twitter account hasn't even mentioned it. In my opinion, this could have been handled much better.

somebody just screamed at me for 30 minutes about how this is all valve's fault and how he's gonna sue them over it and I can't stop laughing

he's gonna sue them over it and I can't stop laughing
it's something completely valid to sue over.

it's something completely valid to sue over.
If someone actually lost money, yeah

it's something completely valid to sue over.
I'm not sure a breach of privacy is enough to sue over unless you can prove damages

ah that would explain why my cart cleared after I added a few things a few hours ago
it only happened once and the stuff I got's mine so that's good

nothing even happened to him he was just mad that some russians would get his info

he also said that info that is "private" on the internet should be "private" and as much as I'd like to agree he should know that once it's on the internet at all it's no longer "private"

this is not my beautiful house
this is not my beautiful wife

it might be an unrelated issue, but i'm having a problem updating some games
now garry's mod workshop content reached 100% installed, then the install progress bar reset but still appears to be installing and trying to stop the download doesn't work
restarting steam doesn't work either
what do
