Author Topic: Jairo's Vassals and Vandals RP - A MOST HOLY ENDEAVOR! DOWN WITH THE KHANATE!  (Read 24703 times)

Muamed rubs his chin and writes a letter back, graciously accepting the offer of becoming a vassal. He asks the Sultan for orders before setting off back to Suwailim.

Get back on the boat and find another village.

"Are there any errands I could run?"
Guildmaster: You can ride coach with a dye caravan heading to Tarmoth. A handful of our traderunners have been killed for numerous reasons, so we'll need you to assist.

Sultan Yusuf the Lawgiver has granted you the fief of Labat. He has no additional orders besides gathering at least 40 men before sailing to assist Bedri.

Get back on the boat and find another village.
Your party sails into a bay not far from Sazawa. Your men speak to the locals and recruit 8 untrained footmen. Their elder says he will send a message to the other Vaasan elders notifying them of the revolution.

"I am without arms."
"Do you reckon I could buy a sword at a discounted price, being affiliated with your guild?"

The party returns to Suwailim and returns the stolen goods. The loot is sold and equipment for the party is purchased. Muamed returns to the taverns to recruit.

Offer the crossbowmen positions.

While they build up the revolution, head out to the area between Tsarigrad and Sochi and do some raiding to supply the new recruits. While navigating, teach them some ways of combat (obviously you can't do any field drills since it's on a boat, but at least we can teach them how to use a sword or bow.)

Alright, the men are ready

when is the battle

I got roped into helping run new year's errands, so you guys are gonna have to wait a bit for another update

Why'd you rope me into this?

"I am without arms."
"Do you reckon I could buy a sword at a discounted price, being affiliated with your guild?"
Guildmaster: There is a small sack of weapons with the caravan itself. Just simply alert the caravan master of your vanguard status and he'll let you outfit yourself.

You convince 8 untrained footmen to join your party.

Offer the crossbowmen positions.
Just 4 untrained crossbowmen join your warband. The rest of the men look wearily on.

While navigating, teach them some ways of combat (obviously you can't do any field drills since it's on a boat, but at least we can teach them how to use a sword or bow.)
You train your 24 inexperienced men, bringing your warband up to a healthy professional status. Your Vaasan troops can feel the electric in the air.

Alright, the men are ready

when is the battle

Bedri's troops formed like how Bulgar had predicted: pike in the center, archers behind, and cavalry flanking. A standard defensive formation. The Tebessan lancers proved the most difficult to deal with because of their fast movement and resilience, meanwhile their pikemen stood in close ranks in anticipation for a cavalry charge that never came. Your side's mounted archers made quick work of the enemy's archers and thinned out many of their pikes before succumbing to exhaustion and a desperate charge. It's difficult to say who won due to all the casualties, but it's impossible for Bedri Hussein to maintain his siege, so you may count it as yours.

Bedri Hussein has lifted his siege on Tatuahe Camp. He is retreating for Yasser Castle in the Tebessa Caliphate.
The mercenary parties enlisted by each faction have been updated.

The recent influx of ironworking blacksmiths and inflation of sword prices now make it as cheap to outfit a swordsman as it is to outfit a spearman. A true revolution in combat technology and military logistics.

Alright, see if you can find a Masocial village to raid, as I mentioned between Riga and Tsarigrad (so we're not seen.)

Kaiki thanks the Guildmaster for his advice and leaves toward his assigned caravan.

He talks to the leader of the caravan, explaining he is with a Carpaccian regulation guild and reveals his license.

The party leaves Suwailim and heads towards Djemahdet.

Alright, see if you can find a Masocial village to raid, as I mentioned between Riga and Tsarigrad (so we're not seen.)
Your party saunters up to a non-Vaasan Masovian lumber community which immediately takes up arms against your landing. You make quick work of the peasants and search their decrepit village. You find no spoils worth gathering and lead your party back to your boat.

He talks to the leader of the caravan, explaining he is with a Carpaccian regulation guild and reveals his license.
You take a weapon from the bag and hop shotgun with the caravan master. He gives additional directions to his loaders and departs for Tarmoth.

The party leaves Suwailim and heads towards Djemahdet.
A messenger finds you on your way to Djemahdet. He delivers a message regarding a change of plans with the Ogdenian situation. The sultan advises you to still gather a sizable party, but not to depart across the Scipio.
