Adalwolf then casually walks up to one of the tents and makes conversation with one of the people inside.

"Walhaz wants us to move on the town before dawn, he want's this Adalwolf fellow we encountered earlier dealt with, we'll be meeting up with two other enclaves in the woods outside of the town."

Muamed accepts the farmer's request and follows him.

for a price of course
Artisan: "Business is too good here in the capital for us to move shop, especially to a place as far off as Perth. You're better off recruiting an apprentice wood worker yourself down at the trader's guild."

Tu Khan: Convert 20 footmen into cavalry, train the new cavalry.
During your travels, you purchase the requested amount of horses. Due to the nomadic culture of your homeland, it is an easy and cheap pursuit. You swiftly retrain your new cavalrymen into a fighting force.

Forest Bandit: "Good riddance. We've been posted out here too damn long and our rum supply's run dry. Rouse the other men to get ready. Hail Walhaz."

You quickly exit the tent as a few bandits swear they recognize you from somewhere, but can't remember.

Muamed accepts the farmer's request and follows him.
Your scout surveys the situation and discovers that the bandits are packing some serious heat--in fact, they may not be bandits at all but a rogue mercenary warband. They appear to number around 35 - 40 men, with a 3:1 ratio of melee to ranged and no cavalry. Many of them possess swords instead of spears as well.

Ask the pretender about his claim to the throne, and why they'd be more inclined to help him rather than drag him off to the king and probably receive a much more handsome reward.
Giuseppe Sforza: "I am Giuseppe Sforza of the famed Sforza family in the Second Empire--Carpaccia to you outsiders. You see, my country founded the Avignese royalty many years ago and my family is one of its patron saints. It is in my blood to rule the Avignese, especially now that King Francis is doing such a good job of tearing it apart. I'm certain even Tsar Vladimir himself would prefer a much more capable negotiator such as myself as an ally rather than that impetuous buffoon."

Vincent has an epiphany

have a band of merchant bandits who raid people who don't pay up to Basil's Guild

scratch that idea, head back to perth with my 10 men and hire local wood workers to create longbows for them

in the mean time, I will teach them how to use short swords in combat

Make a counter offer- accept along the lines only if Giuseppe himself joins Emirs party, or creates a warband of his own that Emir can follow, so that Emir can confirm the claims of Giuseppe being more fit to rule than King Francis is.

Giuseppe Sforza: "Your offer is tempting, and not because I fear arrest, but because of your boldness. Yes, that's it. Your boldness. I will join you."

Giuseppe Sforza has joined you. He possesses the traits of Noble and Mastermind

Yell for any guardsmen to open the gates, saying we are a trade caravan from Basileus.

Muamed has the scout determine the location of the bandits. In the meantime, he takes his lancers and breaks them off from the main group. The town watch doesn't want your caravan clogging up traffic, so they're allowing you to walk alone into the town and do your dealings. You must leave your caravan outside for the time being.

Your scout determines that the enemy warband has set up barricades throughout, probably in anticipation for an attack such as yours. They are deeply entrenched and hiding within the buildings of Djemahdet and show no signs of trying to leave. Your troops get into formation and await your next order.
