i'm sure when comp has been out longer than 5 days the ranks will be spread out more
yes, it should, but as of right now the rank distribution is forgeted

where do you go to check your skill rating
Have you done your 10 placement ranked games?
It's kinda hard to miss

I'd be more willing to play comp if you didnt have to win 300 games before you could get a single weapon skin.
You also get some at the end of the season.
But like Nymph said, I don't want to see entire games full of golden weapons like legendary skins are now

Also a friend just said the number of points you get per win will increase as the season goes on

Why?

What is the problem with a bunch of legendary skins especially if they're ones purchased with the in-game currency.

You should reread that because I didn't say anything is wrong with legendary skins

I mean you still didn't answer my first question which is about the golden skins themselves.

I misread the legendary skins part so my bad for that.

every comp i play as mercy always end in a win

Because it's competitive mode; their should be rewards for people who did well, not just hand-outs for everyone.
Like WoW has rewards (like mounts and titles) for the top whatever % per season.

there are going to be end of the season rewards

Literally my entire team left during my first ranked match.

solo queueing in competitive is hell

If you queue in a 6man group, youll be put against another 6man and there are way less chances of someone leaving unless theyre just bad sports. In which case, forget them because they just ruin the game and u gain far less XP because someone left.

I really wished people didnt leave during comp because that just ruins all your hard work

Someone who wins 300 matches in the course of a season isn't necessarily good. Dedicated alright, but not good.

I think a gold medal should be a gold point and silver and bronze their own respective points.

edit: then again I don't think that'd be fair for support players. A system should be in place for rewarding individual players based on their individual success is what i'm trying to propose. Many a time I play a comp match and get mainly gold stars and not move up in rank if it's a loss.

i think 300 wins means you probably means youre pretty good. even if youre not the top 100, you still deserve the reward for that much play time

Most likely it means you're good. But it's not a good algorithm especially when someone can get carried by a team on several instances, or adversely you lose even if you've done a good job. Same problem with the ranking system in general.

For the sake of playtime I'd say 300 wins would make sense. But it's not like wins or playtime makes a good substitute for actually being good at the game and being able to show that off.
