competitive is full of a different kind of handicap that doesnt understand that a reaper 200 feet away is more dangerous to your team than the pharah chasing your support around behind you.

ah yes forget the support heroes

i had a guy pull the "it's just quick play stop whining" card because I pointed out "hey we could use a tank" on hero select at beginning of match

then he spent half of the match calling me bad because i'm lower rank than him

was he the genji on your team

This monday picks Ana, and doesn't heal anyone the entire game. Friend picks mercy for 2 minutes and gets a gold medal for healing. Call the handicap out and say if you are just going to snipe, pick widow. "just a casual brah"

Literal monkeys
today i decided to play some quick games for the hell of it and decided to try out ana

my priority was healing with some combat on the side and pretty much just putting the enemy team at a disadvantage in terms of health, and then people started yelling at me & telling me to uninstall for just playing ana

i don't understand these people

it appears lucio also stole a pair of gravity-shifting boots along with the sound gun as well jesus

he looks incredibly fun to play now even if he doesn't have huge damage output
also the mechanics on that healing system dont seem that clear - he was healing his team all the way from up there? how is lucios' healing area calculated?

it's future tech speakers that can be heard infinitely vertically of course!

his area of effect is based off of line-of-sight in a radius iirc
you just have to run around in the general vicinity of your team and don't let walls get between you two

i feel bad for new players that get into quick play, though

while most of the people i've seen on the blf are really nice when it comes to asking people to switch and stuff, there are several people that get their panties in a wad over the fact that other players on their team won't switch/leave

one of my good friends who had like really bad social anxiety, on her first match, had someone else tell her repeatedly throughout the round that "she could switch because she sucks" and "she should outright leave so that we could get a new person that would be better than her by all means" - she was level 3 and has only played s76 so far because he's the easiest to start out with, and she doesn't play many fps's (fps'?). even then, s76 fit in our current comp, despite what the other guy said (it was a koth map), so i have no clue what he was thinking.

but this makes me think - this game, in the matter of about a month, has become very unfriendly to newbies. people like to flip out about low levels and team comp, where most people come to the game for fun. oops.

new players won't be matched with those people unless they're grouped with someone with higher MMR

Yeah, telling someone "you suck, switch/leave" in quick play isn't cool
Ranked, though? Yeah, I do it. We had a reaper who refused to flank, just walked straight in every time. Wouldn't switch chars to a non-flanker so someone else could play flanker. Another game we had a S76 who refused to kill the enemy's Pharah. Kept going after the Tracer, no matter how many times our McCree said he had the Tracer. Both of those happened just yesterday

The matchmaker attempts to match you with equal MMR players. But if their are no equal MMR players, because they're all queuing ranked instead of quick play, then it'll have no choice but to match you with the lower MMR players that can't/aren't queuing ranked. Hence, a lot of low MMR players are being matched with high MMR players since ranked release.

Yeah, damn, you were in that game?

i would still debate that saying "you suck/leave/kill yourself" is incredibly rude regardless of the situation. if the guy starts arguing and screwing up the game on purpose, it's maybe warranted, but just outright saying that someone sucks from the beginning of a situation would probably turn them off from playing a nice, decent game.

I wouldn't.
If you're not going to listen to your team, you shouldn't be playing ranked. End of story.
The problem wasn't as much that they were bad. The problem is that the entire team was asking them to switch out of a role they were obviously not good at (not a problem in itself, few people are going to be good at everything), but they refused to listen to their team.

Edit: just remembered another guy.
He didn't have a mic, which is eh, whatever. But he refused to even join the chat to listen

this happened to me today in ranked. i've played ana for a little while so i'd like to say i'm pretty competant with her, but whenever someone else see's an ana they just told me to switch because she's bad. she's not, it's just no-one can play as her well and so they assume that person being bad = the character being bad.

ana's usually good if her team is also good, and is terrible when her team is terrible.

edit: ana can solo heal despite what some people say, but only if there's at least 2 tanks for her to build up a fair amount of ult charge on.
