I laugh at people who think that the only possibility of other life in the galaxy is super-intelligent beings with tech way beyond us.

A part of me wants to believe that we are the hyper-advanced species that's going to go forget up some other planet long into our future.

It's actually entirely possible that there is no other life in the universe but us. If we exist, aliens should be able to exist too. Even so it's also possible that a race of aliens so technologically advanced managed to actually leave this universe to create their own. This would require either another realm or dimension. Since we live in only 3 dimensions I doubt creating or be able to use a "4th dimension" is possible. I honestly dont even think there is. The concept of "realms" seem stupid tho.

Our universe will inevitably die. They are probably off making a universe that won't die.
It will die, it a loving long period of time. Like a few centillion years maybe.

People thinking intelligent life automaticly means super hgh tech are stupid.
The reason we havent got a "reply" from our radio signals send into space are either because
- "they" dont have the technology to detect them
- "they" can detect them but have no idea what the hell it is
- "they" they know its "us" but have no means or way of "replying"
- "they" found us but leave us be

the reason the universe is seemingly increasingly expanding is because the timeflow inside the universe is slowing down, making everything "around us" to appear faster than it actually is

and eventually our timeflow will slow down so much it will simply.
stop.

So working 9 to 5 in our meaningless jobs every day is for nothing.

The universe won't even exist for people to remember your deeds in life.

isn't our solar system a bit young compared to the rest of the universe, though? tyson said that if you scaled the entire lifetime of the universe so far onto a yearly calendar, humanity has existed for like the last three seconds of December 31, 11:59 P.M. or something around there... i could see us being rather new, but it wouldn't surprise me if we're considered advanced too i guess. it's always a possibility

i just wish i'd live long enough to see where humanity stands in the universe

TBH the best way I can explain why the universe expands is the same way I explained it when I was five, which isn't very good: If you swing a ball with a rope around you'll lose balance and/or the rope would stretch affecting it's "orbit." Like I said, it wasn't s good way to explain it.
Also, the universe is loving massive, so it isn't far-fetched to think that it'd contain other life forms on other planets.

Ease up on the nihilism

I wish id see the day where I can go to the spaceship dealership arround the corner and buy myself a spacecar
Thatd be cool

Ease up on the nihilism

It's true if you think about it. I was telling this to my ex girlfriend.

You could be a bum on the street or you could be president of the united states. It doesn't matter

Our sun in our solar system will go super nova one day and kill us all. Then a few billion years after that our universe will die.

There won't be nothing recorded down in history to tell the tale of either the president nor bum.

Which is why people try to be successful. So when they die people remember them but there will be a point in time no one remembers the universe.

Except you'd be death by then twat. And by the time the sun goes down they probably forgot or dont care anyhow

Implying we all wont destroy our planet somehow before the sun does it tho

So we'll all be dead and no one will remember our accomplishments, no matter how successful.

This is fate.

These are the great filters in life that will wipe out all humanity.

No resources

Final war to wipe out humanity

Natural disaster like a asteroid so big it wipes out all life.

sun explodes.

Type 3 civilization wipes our planet out.

universe dies.

Not even a type 3 civilization could make it through the final filter which is the universe from ending. Unless they became a type 4 civilization which could leave our universe, which is seemingly impossible.

So we'll all be dead and no one will remember our accomplishments, no matter how successful.

This is fate.
why do you even want to be remembered? It doesnt matter if your dead anyways? Do you want to boost your ego in the afterlife or something? If there is one in the first place

And you talking about how the universe dies doesnt matter either because by that time we will all be dead for millions of years

Except the 64bit clock

Fun fact about spacetime. At any moment depending on the direction an alien race travels to earth (depending on how fast they travel) they could actually visit earth from the past and mess up any time we have in our current time period.

Making everything we do that's relative, non relative.

if we cannot surpass those challenges then we were never meant to surpass those challenges

such is the way of the cosmic scale

thats not what relative is used for

relative means the power of friendship
