ok so i must be the confused one at this point. to me, "political correctness" has always meant "avoid being an insensitive starfish," but now people seem to be using it instead to describe something weird and abstract
i seem to be basically right on the dictionary definition, but the "ha ha this is what it really means!!" thing tends to be a dumb argument when people have silently agreed on a different meaning. i feel like this probably is a pretty major discrepancy that probably causes a lot of friction, so i propose we instead use the scientific terminology "ignoramus painus" (ie to invoke ignoramus painus) and "whiner's delight" (ie this culture of whiner's delight) in order to prevent confusion
