vast majority of people that use public restrooms. i could give a less of a stuff if a forgetin robotic ogredog wanted to piss next to me
even if it locally brought attention im most certain a nation wide "hello everyone you can use whatever restroom you want" is going to give the wrong idea to the wrong people.
to be fair, we don't have a lot of data that actually supports that, a lot of this is kinda a knee-jerk reaction. i really think people are blowing it out of proportion, and that people will eventually learn that they don't actually give as much a stuff as they believe they will

i'd be disinclined to listen to this guy since it seems to literally be an anti-trans speech but i don't see how it's possible to deny that trans people would feel pressure from society. it's abnormal, and they know it. i don't know a single trans person that hasn't gone through issues like this with their friends and family. they often have to keep it secret from people that should be closest to them, and they have to play this game of figuring out who can and can't know and how to keep it secret until they're ready to come out. it's not easy and it's not a life anyone would want to choose.
You can't assume that we're in a perfect world and that everybody has heard of current issues. You also can't assume that the people who do hear about it are going to shy away from abusing it, if they're that desperate. It's common sense, almost, to just know that even just ONE person is going to abuse this. I'm not saying the solution is keeping it how it always was, because the solution is tricky. You can't have one or the other without arising problems.
People are acting like I need to give examples, saying, "what would they even do??"
Why does somebody that gets arrested for loveual assaults do what they do? If a man is given access to a women's bathroom, then he can sit in there and wait for somebody he deems 'fit' and then do whatever the hell he wants, because he's close enough to them. Getting arrested or not is going to deter them.
it still doesn't change that the man can sit in that bathroom regardless of if the law says he can be there or not. and if someone is acting suspicious, they can be pulled out for that just as well. again, we don't really have much data to support that any massive issue is going to be caused by having protections in place for trans people
