Because people aren't willing to break tradition.

Because people aren't willing to break tradition.
It's not really a tradition, or something done for traditions sake.
The modern olympics is only about 120 years old, and it has regular rule changes and change of which events are included, so it's not even traditional in of itself.

Why do we waste money on tv studios? Because all work and no play make johnny a dull boy

what

Just like some people enjoy NASCAR just for the crashes.

Doesn't mean we should waste all these resources on gasoline to watch people ride around in a circle for I don't know how many loving hours but I hear NASCAR is so god damn loving long people get so bored the crashes aren't even worth the entertainment.
They make money from these events you know

Why are we still showing TV Shows? Why won't the Simpsons end yet? Why is Kidz Bop still a thing? Why is cancer still present in this world? Why is Annoying Orange still in the election?

Why is Kidz Bop still a thing?

this is the question we should be asking ourselves

Lord tony, why don't you quit using electricity in your house for things like your internet, computer, and monitor? It's a waste of electricity and you certainly don't do anything productive with it.

Why do we still watch television? It uses our electricity amd we surely arent doing anything productive with it.

That and we have internet

Chances are if you have a manned mission to mars it's going to be filled with doctors and medical gear. They aren't going to send people to mars with no medical help.

So chances are you'd literally be safer in a space ship to mars because you'll have multiple doctors on staff within arms length from you.

Response time is faster than an ambulance driving all the way to the olympics.
but what if the doctors need doctors?????

A manned mars mission wouldn't yield jack stuff for the human race. At least the olympics provide entertainment

I think what tony's saying is that the olympics in recent years have been a huge waste for the host countries financially. This has more to do with the IOC awarding these countries the olympics(and world cup) than the events themselfs

LOL

It'd be better if the Olympics rotated between like five countries or something. There's no point in building these ginormous stadiums, only for them to be abandoned or seldom used after the Olympics end.
